The guy is 8-4 in the toughest division of the toughest conference in the nation, working with the team with the least resources in the conference, after arguably the best QB in the conference goes down.

I'll take him in a minute.

Well with the reports of some on here that we’re willing to go as high as 10-12mil/year for the right coach I see no reason to make a risky hire. Money talks and some big time coach would take that money. So I say go to every power 5 coach that has won a National championship or at least conference championship and make them say no.

Sometimes you have to look at a coaches pedigree. Mullen was under urban meyer at bowling green,utah and florida.

Don’t you know that doesn’t matter Carl. According to some on here, 14-24 in the SECe (Jones’ record) is the same as 26-30 in the West. They just gotta stick to that narrative and whatnot.

I don't completely disagree. But, what if LSU had that mindset before Saban, Clemson before Dabo, FSU before Jimbo, Oklahoma before Stoops, or LSU before Les Miles?

Again, what bothers me is there was no backup plan when the starting quarterback went down. If you're competing in football against teams like we have in the SEC you have to have someone there who has had some reps to make a game work when you have a key player out. That is poor planning and we have seen that before at Tennessee. It is good that they tried to make a comeback, but at the end of the day they still lost to an inferior team. And what makes it worse is that if they had had better coaching and planning then they wouldn't have had to.

Mullen doesnt deserve anywhere close to 10 million.

Exactly. If you have a running QB like Fitzgerald you are likely to have to play your backup at some point because of injury
