J Jennings Dismissed from UT

Why would Currie sign off on this? Why would he allow this temporary staff, that will be here for only one more game, to do this? Why not simply suspend him and let the new coach decide what to do.

I think we can tell now that all of these “injuries” were complete lies by Butch.

it just seems like another example of these five years...what we had such high hopes for has just turned into so much garbage...another young man let his emotions go too far and an interim coach came down hard...so sad...:cray:

PS. new coach...who knows...JJ may get another chance...if he wants...we'll see, but as always...

Hoke has a supervisor he answers to, it's Currie. Currie was part of the decision making process.

Athletics are similar to other jobs.

A couple things to take away from this:

1. How much Butch lost control of the team that players have such attitudes.
2. How much players actually hated Jones because he was good at promising players one thing and giving them something else


I DONT like how Jennings handled this and similaly how Jalen Hurd handles his departure, however I now think I understand the circumstances better that led to these action.

Currie allowed Hoke to make the decision to Dismiss Jennings. Hoke was the one who came up with the plan, Currie signed off on it. IMO Currie should have told Hoke no, Jennings should have been suspended until a new coach was named at that point it would be his decision. As I've said before with the exception of CRG this staff is incompetent. A group of the unwanted and Jennings position coach Beard is absolutely the worst that guy shouldn't even be on a high school staff.

Sounded to me like he was trashing an incompetent coaching staff.

I wish we could say good riddance to the current staff before we say good riddance to one of our best players.

The next coach should've written off on JJ, not our interim who is buddies with the guy who gave us our worst season in modern history. I think a suspension was more in order, not a full on dismissal the day before Thanksgiving. It was a chump move by Hoke and Currie, period. It doesn't look good for our program.

I think JJ should have been suspended for the Vandy game, then dismissed after we win. This is a distraction that could have been postponed until after our regular season game.

It's easy to get caught up in the poison.

How many passes did Jennings drop in the first half vs Ga Tech, 3?

Jones let him catch passes, throw passes, run reverses. Jones put in him the group, not Malone who was put on the other side as a decoy, to catch the pass vs Ga last yr. What more did he want?

The time line is in question.

I made assumptions from the videos that he was still part of the team due to his multiple use of "us and "we", rather than they and them when referring to what the players deserve from the next staff.

This doesn't surprise me at all and I called this back when he got in trouble the first time. I said back then this would rear it's ugly head again and here we are.
