They couldn't be dumb enough to hire Schiano. I'm gonna go ahead and guarantee that he isnt hired here and really hasn't been considered at all.

I’m with you, let’s just get this ridiculousness over with. I almost don’t care who they even hire, just get it done and over with so the stupidity can stop.

If you look at history, we have never introduced the new coach until the former staff is dismissed.

His best year at Rutgers, 11-2, they played 2 ranked teams. Lost to WVU and beat UofL.
The rest of his tenure he managed a 9 win season. Not impressed with him at all.
Was absolutely HORRIBLE in the NFL.

So he is a big fat NO for those reasons.

We deserve a home run hire. No google coach or someone that you have to try and convince me will be good here (Mullen or Schiano). Home run or bust! If not fire Currie... we’ve been a laughing stock and he shares a big chunk of the blame. It’s absolutely insane what they charge for tickets and the price of the vols gear... it’s criminal

If we don't at least try to go after Patterson, PETERSON, Franklin, and just settle for someone like Schiano I will no longer purchase season tix until he proves he is worthy and shows he can turn around a train wreck.

Im with you but Peterson, Patterson, and Franklin are unrealistic. UT will hire someone like a Mullen, Sumlim, or taggart type coach. Just because someone has a big name doesnt guarantee success at UT. UT is a unique job and we need a coach who understands that a builds around that.

What would be a homerun hire? It's not many homerun coaches in the market.

I kind of disagree. I watched his show the day BJ was fired and he was tight lipped and just had a look on his face. I think he knew then Jones was canned that day

Even though everyone wants a "Big, Explosive and Expensive" HC like Gruden or Kelly I do not believe that was said in the press conference. It was reported by Basilio that a source told him Currie said that to Boosters. After it's posted 1000 times it gets changed a little at a time to where people say that was from his press conference which it wasn't. It's just a rumor like a lot of others.

It's not gonna be Sciano. If Curries main target (Frost imo) somehow gets lured elsewhere we will not get to the Sciano written on the back of the page of the list. He has to be near the section entitled "If we can get no one else who "will do".
