And it's a big part of the reason we mood-swing so many times a day in this thread, I think.

There are a very limited number of people with actual inside information. But there is a much broader pool of people who can cause the entire community to react. Whether with hope, or concern.

So if Matt has real information on a change in the coaching search, I'd love to hear it. But if he doesn't, if he's just reacting to some other glint of reflected light, I don't feel any great urge to follow his mood swing with one of my own.

So I thought I'd ask about his credentials as an info-provider.

Report was that Florida's Representatives flew back to Gainesville without Chip Kelly.

Yes its all over the news down here in Florida this morning they have talked face to face. And gonna meet again soon. It looks like this happening.

I can not see UCLA outbidding Florida. They don't typically empty the bank on the west coast. Much more inclined to climb and camp out in the tops of trees to keep them from being cut down than to back the Brinks truck up to a coaches house. JMO .... I could be wrong.

Maybe it won’t be just about the money....west coast versus east coast...or whatever you call Gainesville.

I assume a lot of people will be home for the holiday. Usually a ghost town on campus on Thanksgiving weekend.

I was just getting ready to say the same thing lol.

I think with another poor outing on the field, plus the weird storm situation in general at the game, crazy fan shouting at Currie, Gruden chants, Calhoun’s fiasco, etc. etc. something has to be addressed today. Just strictly a gut feeling.

I heard that Florida is not doing well finically but seems to get it done with lesser money and players vs Tennessee.... amazing!

I'm all in on gruden being hired . I heard a super bowl winning vfl say it over the phone. Makes zero sense for him to say that if it wasn't true. Gruden is the coach until I see someone else at the podium being introduced.

Florida and Chip Kelly have been talking for days now. Maybe not face-to-face until yesterday, but they've been talking.

What's new in the past 24 hours is that one side or both have acknowledged publicly that they're talking.

And that usually happens for a reason. Could be they're close enough to a deal that they're confident no one is going to be embarrassed by it falling through. Or it could be the sudden job opening at UCLA has encouraged one side or the other to go public...Florida to "plant a flag" on Kelly, so to speak, or Kelly to get a bidding war started for his services.

Either way, this is possibly still far from a done deal.
