Official Gruden Thread 38

I'm with SNF and Exile on this one.... I stand on my belief that he has already signed ( or committed) to coaching here. When AV says he holds his own cards I feel like that this could be according to assistants and or bonuses ... not simply yes or no on coaching. We've already been told my several reliable sources that there was some wrinkles to iron out... that is simply what AV confirmed. He was confirming information not bringing us any bad news...

I never said he was bringing bad news. I actually said the opposite. I'm responding to someone several pages back that said they wish he would just be clear instead of leaving it open for interpretation. I will however say it again. I put almost zero stock in message boards and media. Until I see an official announcement from Gruden or Currie I will never be at 100%, but that doesn't mean I don't think he's coming. I just don't believe it's a "done deal" until it's official. :hi:

I’ve been here and invested much longer than I’d like to admit, like 2012 longer... I only speak up when something strikes a nerve or when I have extra time. In 2012 I was able to get info from a friend who knew Gruden from UD. He is married to the former ADs daughter. Gruden comes back every year to speak and gives to the university. I’ve been a cola fan my entire life, raised by a dad who played b-ball with BK, he’s from Morristown.

I belong here as much as anyone and don’t try to tell anyone what they should or shouldn’t post. I do ask questions or conversate as it pertains to the topic.

I never said you should not post. But if you question SFD's contribution to this thread, you have not been around.

Oh I know 5FVP ... I've been here all day. I didn't really mean that directly to you I should have clarified. I just clicked on your comment to write my reply to a whole group. I also agree with you that it is never 100% until someone steps up to the podium!

Yeah, it's not exactly democratic up in here. A lot of recent posts are from folks like me who want Gruden but also happen to think that statements like this one are pretty clearly not about an announcement timeline:

"If it were that easy we would have someone already."

Why the **** do people keep linking that "procedural move" article and cite it as though its proof that Gruden has said no? My 4 year old niece has better reading comprehension.

He may not come but that article is a lazy rehash of crap from 3 or 4 days ago. All it is proof of is clickbait journalism.

I also was not stating that AV was bringing bad news. I think his posts were positive...just not “done” as others have stated.

I think you read AVs posts the way you want and/or need to.

Looks like I may get to follow two coaching searches this season.

Browns. Vols.

Football for me this year flat out sucks.

I need something positive to happen......

SOON

Would that be the first time you've gotten anything right with your "inside" sources?

I think all involved must be acutely aware that there is a growing amount of irreparable damage to both parties attached to failure to make the deal.

So I take that to be good sign.

Soon....obviously a measure of time open to interpretation.

I feel the same way. We’ve past the point of no return with the ability to deny interest and not do any damage. For all parties.

Everyone seems a little anxious today.Hang in there we have come this far, especially the 2012 bunch. Last night was good to see the people getting tixs enjoying themselves. I think we take for granted sometimes that everyone on here has gone to games before. Glad everyone had a good time, especially the kids. Still remember my first game, cold and windy and almost just like this Saturdays game. Johnnys first year Vandy-Tennessee to stay out of last.Still after all the games I've gone to it's still one of the tops because it's was the first time in Neyland to see the Vols! To many of those people yesterday they will feel the same way in years to come! Kudos to everyone making that possible.

Like I said I have been in here all day... never said you either .... however, some have talked about it being negative, especially when it was first written. Just reiterating what others have already said

I would love to see Kiffin at Florida. I kind of like childish drama from time to time, and that guy would keep it fun!
The tweets he would aim at Saban alone...

UF can and will do better than Kiffin.

They’re not that stupid and they actually care about winning.

What has Kiffin accomplished as a HC at big time schools?

Bielema is also a coach I hoped could right his ship.

He seems to really care about his players. It will be interesting if the Malzahn rumor has any legs.
