I don't think AV talks in riddles. It was pretty straight forward. Gruden was offered, he hasn't accepted yet. There is a plan B, which will also be a good coach, In his opinion.

I agree with you.

I think that the reaction to several people on this thread centers around the feeling that AV’s posts seemed to contradict others saying that the deal was done 100%...not that vetting, on both sides, should be circumvented.

I want Gruden above all others. Therefore, the timing of the announcement and choices on assistant coaches and/or a “coach in waiting” are insignificant to me and many others. That is why interpreting AV’s posts as only involving the timing of the announcement doesn’t really hold water for me.

Frost isn't going to Flor I don't believe. They have concerns about the staff he would hire and would wanna bring that mid major coaching staff he has at UCF with him. Ill be shocked if he's not Nebraska's next HC. Think both sides have cooled on Frost at UF.

Except he didn't say that. "There is a clear plan and then a clear plan beyond the first plan." Again, if it were plan A and Plan B he'd have said so. I actually think it is making a riddle of it to say that he's talking about 2 different coaches.

Exvept AV didn't say any of that. You inferred it. Which is my point, people taking his statements as "bad news" are making a leap.

Find that latest article to be complete trash. Procedural? Yeah it was so procedural that it had Gruden calling coaches to fill out a staff.

That was a good thing. If Strong couldn't make it at Texas, he would not have made it in Knoxville. He's just not good enough.

I'm not landing on either side of the argument, but could it not be fair to say that people taking his statements as good news could also be making a leap?

I'm just trying like heck...no pun intended, PF, to stay on the positive side for the most part, but I can see how people who are completely frustrated would automatically interpret negative connotations rather than positive.

Dunno. I know you're trolling me, but I will still give a straight answer. I thought yesterday, and today, that there were good reasons to look for an announcement today. But I also said that John Currie could look at my post and decide "hey, that jackass thinks it's Monday, let's push it!"

My feelings re: MNF are still applicable whether there's an announcement this week or next. I think MNF will have something special for Gruden either way.

Have a Grude day. :)
