We WILL beat Vandy

Isn't this the right thread to start discussing how to get Bama off our schedule or move to the ACC?

Please Lord, don't let us lose to the Commode Doors.

Team 121 has worked too hard and had far too many injuries to go down in Vols history as the worst Team ever.

Please let the kids go out of this horrid season with a WIN.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

VFL...GBO!!!

That Jones put this program in position to allow Vanderbilt to dictate their fortunes is probably the thing that galls me most about him.

It's effin Vanderbilt.

I have no idea what to expect for next week. Turn the ball over and they could get blown out. Hang onto the ball last night and they are in a tight game with LSU so they could easily beat Vandy.

We can barely field an offense and I'm not even exaggerating. We are down to walkons and converted defensive tackles on the Oline. And Shurmer is throwing the ball really well. If we were healthy I'd say sure. But with the current state of injuries...nah. I don't see it.

The offense is a complete train wreck so the defense will have to win it. Not sure this team could score on Maryville Highschool.

but they scored 10 on LSU. Good reasoning. Vandy is just a bad team and with all of our injuries, so are we but I believe we win

I believe they have a legitimate shot at winning unless the players check out completely. I sure hope that don't as I hate Vandy as bad as anyone

Fully expect a W by the Vols. Let's end the season on a high note, send the seniors out right, then anxiously wait for the Jon Gruden led Team 121!

It makes a huge difference to me. I live not far from Nashville and despise Vandy. If nothing else, a loss to Vandy again would make UT look very bad in the eyes of local recruits.
this! I grew up close to Franklin (Arrington) and now live in Davidson County. My business is about 2 miles from Vandy. I confirm this! I hate Vandy with the red hot intensity of a billion suns and ALWAYS pull against them, no matter the opponent. Sadly I Am already preparing myself for the trauma of a loss to these booger eaters this weekend.

I think we beat Vandy, they are pretty terrible.

Our guys came out fired up yesterday, they should do the same next week. Avoiding the label of worst Tennessee team ever should provide some motivation, and I know Hoke would like an interim HC win as he rebuilds his resume.

I've watched every UT game and pretty much every snap and I believe with the injuries and all we are the worst team in the SEC

Given the fact that both teams are winless in conference play, this should, on paper, be a low-scoring, ugly game. If you project the outcome based solely on offensive ineptitude, yes, we should find a way to lose. However, the Commode-flushers are just as historically bad on defense. They are on the verge of breaking an SEC record for points surrendered in conference play. Through seven conference games, Vandy has been outscored 322-138; they have held no SEC opponent to less than 34 points. Think about that, long and hard, for a moment. We, on the other hand, have been outscored in SEC play, 236-89.

Personally, I foresee a close game that could boil down quite simply to whoever makes the last catastrophic mistake. Hopefully, our lads, or those few of them that are left, will play their most inspired game in front of the Neyland Stadium faithful and flush the Commodes, no matter how close or ugly the outcome may be. I wouldn’t put money on either side for this game if I were a betting man, which I am not.

The interesting point to ponder is whether Vandy would fire Derek Mason if they should lose to us. Finishing 0-8 in conference play will not play well, even in Commie-dore land.

My nuts are prepared for the final kick from Jones: leaving Ohio State as the only team to never lose 8.

I just saw the stat that we've score 89 total points in 7 SEC games and threw up in my mouth a little.
