Outside of Frost right?
Well if Curry's coaching qualifications are actually considered.....We may be looking at college or pro coordinators first...then the Norvell types..
How can you expect a hire by early signing day unless you actually have someone in mind who actually wanted the job...or one who would take it if your first picks turned you down

Six of Mullen's seasons have had conference records of .500 or less. Only 2 of his seasons have had Winning conference records. During that time, he's had two games playing opponents in the extremely weak east. Dan Mullen is a good coach. He's not a championship level coach. If you're ok with losses to FL and GA and Alabama every year, going to the outback, music city, and belk bowls, then he's your guy.

Dan Mullen and James Franklin had the exact same career winning percentage vs. top 25 teams at the end of last season.

I'm just afraid we are going to end up with a Norvell or a Morris, and they'll end up being Butch 2.0 and the program would never recover from it. Mullen would at least be a guaranteed upgrade over Butch.

People really need to stop comparing these guys to Butch.

What “work”. The papers. Little known fact, he’s got PEOPLE for that. Dudes’s been flying all over the place for the past few weeks...work’s been done. So he accompanies his family ON THANKSGIVING WEEK to see the basketball team (who coincidentally are part of the ATHLETIC portion of his JOB description) and he’s “incompetent”? I’ll quit on this one. Let you work it out with your head gremlins. :hi:
He already said he is NOT going down there with his family but MAY try to sneak down there one day if he can. So even if he does go it isn’t like he will be there for days and days.

I guess he is expected to be making phone calls and conducting interviews 24/7

SBNation has an article out on coaching vacancies. It says Taggart was offered the job by Ole Miss and turned it down. It also said Currie had met face-to-face with Gruden in a procedural move to satisfy boosters and fans. It said Mullen and Schiano are candidates. I’m sure it’s not all accurate so TIFWIW.

Ole Miss should ride it out with Luke another year. No one is going to take that job considering they may be facing massive sanctions.

I really wish people would familiarize themselves with the rules then you'd know the article can in no way be factual.

What happened to Fulmer and Peyton being a strong part of the coaching search? They are not going to let us get another dud.

That same SBNation article said Oregon St contacted Butch, but he had no interest in talking.

Prolly the other way around

I think one of the causes of contention between the Mehlens and the Mullenites is the points of comparison aren't the same. The Mehlens are weighing Mullen against Gruden, Patterson, Petersen, and the like. The Mullenites are weighing him against Brohm, Norvell, and Bobo.

Of course I'd love Gruden, Patterson, or Petersen over Mullen, but I don't think that's going to happen. I'm trying to think of what the best attainable options are, and I don't see many safer bets.

None of the talking heads are mentioning Patterson or Peterson but if you offer them Gruden money???

They're involved. Maybe that fact should sway what some believe is a "dud."

As long as they are making the list, I'm good. I just want football people picking our football coach, not a bunch of suits in offices, because I'm convinced that is what happened the last three hires.

If Manning likes the hire, I can learn to like it too.
