I said zero chance? I don’t recall that, there is always a chance. If you want my honest opinion, I think TN can do better than Gruden. Yes, he would bring excitement and be a name but I think it would be more sizzle than steak. He doesn’t know the grind of recruiting and he will have a hard time with the 20 hour rule. He doesn’t do twitter at all yet he will gravel at 17 year olds with social media? I’ve seen a list of his potential staff and I like Jay Graham being on the list, stud recruiter. The HC recruits as much as any coach now tho, see Urban, Saban, or even Smart. JMHO, but I don’t think Gruden will like that part of the job, the most important one.

That said, I think TN should back up the brinks truck for Frost. Tn CAN outbid Nebraska and offer things Nebraska can’t like the SEC and fertile recruiting grounds vs NE, plus the pressure of winning at your Alma mater is alleviated. Frost would win a N.C. at Tn in 4 years and would be at Tn to stay.

I think Fuente would be a homerun as well and would win the SEC.

I’m mixed on Mullen, he has lost at least 6 games in more than half his seasons, but it is at MSU, so who knows.

Bottom line, TN has everything it needs, facilities, support, etc to win and win big imo. It just needs a General.

I think it’s a better job today than in them 90s, why? Recruiting, TN recruiting is taking off and will only get better with the population boom in Nashville. :hi:

Fair enough.

That was misinformation. He has been out of my basement since he was dropped off a few days ago. All of the pictures of Gruden and Currie are smokescreen. I have the contract and a pen sitting in from of them both. They're being stubborn so far, but I think I'm starting to break them.

Play some Kenny G around the clock, works every time..

I think you have to ask permission through the AD if it's in their contract

Ok thank you I wasn't sure if there was a rule or even an unwritten rule you wait till the season is over. I still say if it is indeed this week I don't see how you could announce a coach was leaving before their last game. I would think everyone plays next weekend at some point. Probably over thinking it.

I’m getting the feeling from AVs info this morning that if we hear about the background dealings with Gruden we may all end up hating him if he doesn’t become our coach...

I don't disagree. If it's not Gruden, it's not getting announced until after next Saturday. If it's annmounced before then, it would have to be a coach not coaching. Jmo

Rock star status may turn into Kiffin status. That’s exactly why it doesn’t make sense to not come out and make some kind of statement.

Did you read past Norvell smh

Frost imo is the real deal, Mullen could get things done imo, Kelly would be nice but doubtful, maybe Mulzahn if he tells AU to blow goats?

The notion that Norvell is somehow equivalent to Butch Jones or Dooley is nonsense. Neither Jones or Dooley had been a successful coordinator at decent school at any level and neither had proven they could perform on their own without the shadow of a previously successful coach. Heck Jones was demoted from OC at Central Michigan and Dooley gad never even been a coordinator at any level

Look I'm going to say this. There is a plan in place not just for GRUDEN but others as well. I had my doubts at first about Currie but the more info I get the more I like him. Very focused and organized. Sees things from different angles than most and uses lots of resources. I have been very impressed by what I have heard and think this program is in good hands

Also can think of plan A and B in the context of Plan A being the HC hire and Plan B being the staffing and hiring of hopefully the next coach (after this hire) as a part of this plan.
In other words, plan B doesnt necessarily mean Gruden doesnt get the job.
If the main plan B coaches that our visionaries and Gruden want to hire can't really be nailed down till after the season, then hence the reason to wait till after championship saturday to secure those commitments and then announce the new coach and much of his staff. Gruden taking the job may hinge, not on money, but on him getting who he and the UT visionaries (Currie, Manning, Fulmer and others and the money people) want as part of Plan B.
This would seem to be a very complicated negotiation and people just need to chill and let the process plan out. The players on our side are trying very very hard not to repeat the mistakes of the last three hires.
That is what I take from Atlanta's posts today, and fits with other info that has been passed along. Really at this point, no news is good news.
Ignore the trolls. Be skeptical of the knoxville media types chasing ghosts......

The gravel road from Teton Village to Moose, WY...is amazing. I used to ride my motorcycle down that road all the time right at daylight and dawn to watch Moose, elk and bears.

Early morning and evening were great times to see wildlife on that road. I used to ride my road bicycle on that road a lot, the gravel part was a little rough on the bike.

Congrats!

BTW have you heard from utvolinexcile? Wanted his take on things after AtlantaVol's post. Think you were the last one to hear from him last night? Is still 💯?

Thanks everyone for the kind words and encouragement!! My wife and I are overjoyed. Definitely helped waking up after that LSU game.

For the boys out there playing they sure did play as hard as they knew how. Just way overmatched with all of our injuries, lack of development and distractions and deciding to play during the monsoon which was crazy imo.

Yes we spoke last night. He has trusted people in the university who he believes and is fully confident. I believe him as I believe my chattanooga guys. My most trusted guy said this week and has not wavered from it. Exile believes this week as well. Interestingly DTO came in and said the same.

However, if AV was to say otherwise then something has happened that no one is aware of or our booster/university connections are giving out bad info. I do not see this many trusted people (at least in my case) purposely giving out wrong and misleading info. These are successful business men with familes and aren’t teenage trolls. Some are family friends from years.

I’ve been told by each second and third hand source that this is so much different than 2012 and to stop worrying. I have a hard time trusting people that I do not know, so I understand everyone skeptiscm here. However, I choose to believe I am being told accurate and honest information.
