A bit more sophisticated than that.

Say you have three suspected leakers. You wait until 2 of them are with you, then spread fake news A. Then later, when one of those guys and the third person are together, you spread fake news B. Finally, you wait for the last combo to be together, and spread C.

That way, each time it appears to the leaker that he's not the only one with the news, so he can't be isolated. He's safe to leak both bits he heard.

But when fake news A and C both get leaked, you know exactly which of the three did it.

That's the simplistic version. The complexity builds as you add suspected leakers...but it works exactly the same way.

Why?

I'd rather they take their time and get this hire right. The worst thing UT can do at this point is make a quick hire.

They need to be methodical, deliberate and analytical when making this hire as they MUST get it right.

They have plenty of time a new coach isn't really needed until December 10 anyway.

If Gruden is the new coach, when is the most logical time to announce it and have the PC? Doesn’t seem that time would be today when he is doing MNF tomorrow. It makes more sense to me that it would be before the Vandy game given no bowl and the recruiting issues. JMO

Just wait until the new coach is announced. You'll either have one thunderous party and all sorts of pant-less people. Or Freak's going to have about 4500 new threads pop up at the same time of "WTF! WHO IS THIS GUY?!?!?!"

The ups and downs will continue. But remember this:

If we get him it will be a joyous day!

If we don’t, given the way he has let this drag on w/o shutting it down, that provides a window into a dark soul we are probably better off without.

Let’s just settle this. Someone on here has to know how to hack Currie’s iPhone or email or know someone who does. Let’s just get it over with and be done.

Hiring a coach is not something to be patient about. It will be to late.

That’s still pretty good. I’m guessing that makes him the front runner. Anybody put any trust in betting odds? Or is it irrelevant? Seems like Vegas has an insider in every situation.

I know lol....if they gave an award for the collective trolling of a fan base there would be some big winners out there.

I hate it, too. This reminds me of when I was a kid....we had a family friend that gave me a huge box for Christmas one year. He hyped that gift for weeks. I was beside myself with excitement. Christmas Eve came and I was allowed to tear into that box! Inside was another wrapped box. Inside that one.....another wrapped box. This went on until I got down to a stick of stove wood. I cried lol. Under that was a very small jewelry size box containing my first charm bracelet. It wasn’t what I was expecting. My first trolling experience in 1975.

In some way, I’m back in that headspace.

After reading this, I think I have some issues lol. :loco:

When I saw that live, I thought it was odd. The OU/KU game was wrapping up and they were starting to talk about the UT/LSU game, which was on next. They showed that couple and started talking about "Grumors." Not simply that UT had a vacancy and rumors were swirling, but they specifically said "Grumors." That term was used all day on ESPN networks. I don't recall it ever being used like that in 2012.

I agree. With the horrible loss last night, no bowl eligibility, and a lot of young guys having to step up and play it would make total sense to announce it now to re-energize the team and fans for Vandy week.
