Recruits as whole don’t keep up with current nfl or football in general. It’s really sad how few of the probably even ever watched manning play or care to know about him.

Peyton is one of most famous athletes in all of sports. I guarantee they all know about him. He hasn't been away from the game long. And he's on SNL or Papa Johns commercials constantly. He is an A list celebrity.

Funny how they haven’t yet? How many new sports enter, sideline anchors, debate shows etc have they changed or added

They aren't going to fire him midseason. He won't be there for long at his current salary. MNF itself may not be long for this world. ESPN pays more it than they do for their entire college football lineup.

I’m mostly talking about a kid from California, Florida etc. why would they have a vast appreciation for Peyton or al Wilson etc. I’m not just picking on Vols. I doubt a lot of Stanford players really know about elway or Miami players know about vinny T

Everyone knows Peyton because he transcends the game. Endorsements and ads made him a celebrity beyond football.

Al Wilson? You’re absolutely right about.

I’m talking about actually watching him and appreciating how great players before their time were in general.

You want to know how powerful the Grumors are? I was with two MSU alums last night who mentioned Grumors and molegate before I could even discuss it.

My brother in law is a big UGA Homer and he has been reading our board for Gruden ijfom. Lol

There's quite a bit if time gap between your examples.

Tee recruiting to UT for Gruden with that NC ring on his hand.

At first I was unsure about Tee as OC, but Gruden is gonna be running the offense anyway and Tee would recruit like CRAZY with Gruden as his head coach and would be learning from one of the best football minds. I like it.

They run like 3 segments off grudens position. He’s the most important tv person at espn

MNF won’t even be on ESPN in 2-3 years. I doubt they are going to let Gruden leverage them into a new contract when they are going to sell of MNF anyways. ESPN can’t afford to keep him for even close to what he’s making now.

I could see that as appealing to Tee as well.

What if Gruden turned us down... but Currie and Gruden both agreed to keep the smoke alive to help mask our search and help gruden leverage ESPN or NFL jobs. That’s the most likely scenario imo

If he has turned us down then we owe him nothing and it could do more harm than good for UT to handle it this way. Regardless, we would owe nothing to Gruden to help him with ESPN.

Deal runs through 2021. After that, it's gone. They overpaid for it when they were still raking in cash.

Another network will get it and probably at a bargain. The sports money bubble is going to burst. Salaries are impossibly high and attendance/ratings are decreasing everywhere. Not enough money going in to the sports to sustain the salaries and network deals.

I do think Larry is a mouthpiece for the AD in some form or fashion. Maybe not all the time but I do think he gets fed information. It's no secret that the AD keeps tabs on message boards and Twitter. Would make sense that they also have people working to help control narratives.

Larry has said he has been called on the carpet before so he has to be careful what he post. He said they do monitor and monitor him specifically.
