He might be a troll but the logic makes sense.

Even if Gruden has already signed the contract, there was never gonna be an announcement that he's the new head coach until the season ends. And there would be a misinformation campaign from the Athletic Department and him until the announcement saying he said no.

Every big hire follows this same song and dance. Once again look at Urban Meyer to Ohio State in 2011. They agreed to a contract with 2 weeks left in the season. News began to leak, they denied it. Two weeks later he's being introduced as the new Ohio State football coach.

The logic of what he's saying makes perfect sense. That is why I believe it.

Ether meet flame IMO. Given the current climate I'm not sure Currie wants that perception. Even if you have a good hire on the hook and make it.

I would agree that if Currie knows he can't make it happen that he needs to make a clean break asap and put some time between that and whoever he does roll out. Even if he pulls off a good hire.

It’s the talk of the town but there’s nothing of any substance. There will be no leaks on Curries end unless he wants them. Brice, hyams, Hubbs, etc they are all just guessing and going off tips. Who ever the next coach is...i would be willing to bet money that a national media guy will break it bc Currie wants it done that way. Fieldman or someone like that.

announcing Gruden and him saying "I'm gonna spend this week getting my assistants" isn't going to take away from football anymore than this current stage has.

You're wrong. But nonetheless, when has a new head coach been announced while the football season is ongoing? Most new hires are typically sitting coaches so they never bail on their old team before the regular season ends. Similarly even guys out of the game like Urban Meyer weren't announced as going to Ohio State until the season officially ended.

The earliest Gruden was ever going to be announced was Nov. 26th (the Sunday after the Vandy game).
