Larry just replied and seems to think after talking to enough people in the know that we have moved on from Gruden. Next up would be Mullen, Patterson, Peterson, Fuente, and Frost. He thinks those interviews start after the Vandy game.

Who knows, maybe he was given some bad info, but it sounds like it's done with Gruden.

No, he didn't just reply and say that. I think the post you're referring to was from 6am (and I already posted that this morning) where he responded to a question...if not Gruden would it fall as far as Morris/Durkin/Norvell type?

oh I wouldn't say out of the gate no.. I think they check out Fisher, Patterson, Peterson, Mullen and perhaps others... probably have already dinged the agents for interest level. Certainly hope he ends up in discussions with people like that.. could we end up at that level? sure.. who knows. We talked to several coaches before settling the last two times

If this is true, it gives me enough reason to be very confident in our AD.

He did what he could to get target #1, and he's not giving up and moving on to Dooley/Jones types. The coaches on that list are all legit Power 5 coaches with the exception of a guy who's taken a winless program to 10-0.

I'm 100% ok with any of these coaches, and am confident that any one of them would have us winning again.

Ugh, that's not right...we were so caught up in this **** and the guy was scared and in the hospital.

He said Grumors kept his mind off of it.

For whoever asked. He had Kidney failure and they've got him on dialysis. He put up pictures of himself--young guy.

There is zero chance we don't interview before Vandy. Unless it's a formality. It may not be Gruden but the coach will be hired a day or two after Vandy. Jmo

Miss state plays Thursday.
Mullen interviews Friday and that might be all.

It's worth noting TV was interviewed at midnight and hired officially the next morning

Tee Martin interviewing for HC at Georgia Southern.

I am glad he is getting an interview. I can't imagine him getting it though. I imagine they will go back to the Paul Johnson tree with someone like Brian Bohannon at Kennesaw St. He is 23-9 as a HC, used to be at Southern, and has KSU 9-1 this year in only their 3rd year as a program.

Currie has to host the 97/98 team tonight, game tomorrow night. So it is not hard to see him coming in and being quiet this weekend. There isn’t a lot he can do until Sunday at the earliest.

Sure sounds like it. Why else would it be "really really quiet" 5 days into a coaching search? Hmmm

Also, it seems pretty disingenuous to say that while also acknowledging that Currie isn't in town. Lol.

"He's probably interviewing someone. Hell, we don't know. I'm not going back to the airport no matter how much you guys say I'm just a puppet for the athletic department. Alcoa Highway traffic is ridiculous." - Hubbs

Exactly. I don't get how people are so gullible to believe what they want to believe

Per John Currie, John Currie's "sole focus will be on the coaching search"

I still have a ton of things lining up that make me believe.

I 100% believe Catbone. I believe he was here this week. And he was here unseen. Unlike the South Carolina game where he strutted around town being a boss.

LWS confirmed that he was in East TN the week of the So Miss game. Supposedly this was predicted by Hutch 7. If it was him that said it would have then that gives credence to Hutch and the things he has said.

Gruden showed up on campus this year for a game which has never happened.

The announcement isn’t coming until 11/26 at the earliest imo. No matter who we target and ultimately hire. I think it will be Gruden on 11/28. Until then we will get misdirection and denials. Also Gruden gave the “sensitive to coaches doing their job” comment. No hire til after the season is over.

I believe that Gruden bought that house. Nobody even knew that house was on the market and then we hear he bought it. Hank brought that here before I saw it anywhere. Days before it spread as I recall.

If you believe the report by 247 then he did that interview and brought up UT after hearing our pitch. He asked to not be asked about coaching vacancies and then brings up how much he loves rocky top.

Espn is going to have to cut his pay.

He said on Eisen show that his contract is not guaranteed. You know what is? A coaching contract.

He has a huge ego and college coaches are rock stars. In the NFL, the players are the stars.

His wife is from here and his son goes to school here.

He’s been around this program more in the past 5 years than ever before.

Timing is right for him this time.

UT knows it has to go big this time. $340m renovation on deck and it’s not getting done with a mosquito hire.

Agreed.

The guys who have jumped off the Gruden train after the expected misinformation campaign began are just fickle.

As you said the earliest an announcement can be made is 11/26. Anyone with any sense knows that there would be denials coming from all sides that a deal was reached to quiet the noise until the football season ends.

Atlanta hasn't posted since the 14th.

And that's good news.

Be explicitly said as long as he doesn't post, then we have Gruden.

Plus he said Wednesday was the pivotal day. That was the same day everyone was saying Gruden signed the contract and agreed to come.

No sir, I know Larry other than message boards.
