I am beginning to think Jon wants the job but will never take it because he can't get the perfect staff, and he is afraid to get fired again.

He won't have any problem getting his perfect staff. And coach's are egomaniacs and don't worry about getting fired when taking a job. They are in the wrong business if that was a deciding factor on whether to take a job or not.

I’d love to know what you know here. You haven’t wavered in confidence level for days.. you, knuck, and boro are keeping me from getting too close to the ledge.

I received a phone call yesterday at about 6:30 pm Central time while I was driving home. It was one of the two individuals I have mentioned before. Based on what I was told by this person, I absolutely believe the deal with Gruden himself was concluded last night. I've got nothing on these staff questions, other than I did get the indication last night as well that Blackburn was going to be part of the team.

I believe that any staffing issues are of secondary concern. Because I believe we got our guy.

A couple other posters here have all but said they believe the same thing. I have not spoken with them about their information directly, so I don't know if they heard the same details that I did. I'm guessing, without any special insight, that we could well have an announcement tomorrow, and since I'm going to be out of service for much of the day, wanted to go ahead and state as clearly as I'm able why I'm confident we have Gruden. My 1% "Act of God" contingency still applies.

Now the Hubbs nugget makes me feel even better.
