Previous post. Had lunch with the BOT member. He still refused to use the name Gruden today, but for ease of reading I've added it in his statements.

  • They said the AD is cautiously optimistic about the deal getting done, but it is by no means done at this point.
  • MoU has been signed but the contract itself has not.
  • I asked and they said that Jon Gruden was not in Knoxville last night.
  • The issues with the deal getting done still lie primarily on Gruden's side. He said "They're (AD?) in a wait-and-see situation".
  • Gruden is still concerned about his staff, although it is less of a concern today than it was 2 days ago.
  • Money is not the issue with the staff.
  • He began contacting staff over 2 weeks ago to gauge interest, but over the past 48-72hrs he has been working on officially bringing a staff together.
  • Several members of the potential staff have already agreed in principle, but there are some contract issues with 2 potential staff members, as well as a third vacancy.
  • I asked and they backtracked on their previous statement that 2 current staff members are being retained. This time they said they didn't know.
  • They said a face-to-face meeting is happening today in Tampa to hopefully line out a non-staff issue and Currie is going to push to get the contract signed today.
  • They feel like getting the contract signed today is reliant on Gruden feeling comfortable with the staff situation at this point, as well as lining out this other unknown issue.
  • BOT has been told that even if this was to fall apart, the AD plans to have a hire by 11/20.
  • Backup plan is Patterson. Currie has remained in contact with him and had a long conversation with him this past weekend as well as a face-to-face last week.

If they are meeting now in Tampa and you are a believer in prayer, this may be a good time... lol. If you don’t believe in prayer, send “thoughts”. Whatever that means...

There's a free third-party one that works really well called 'Reddit is Fun'.

Makes everything much more readable and easy to use.

Im going to have to be the bad guy, but I highly doubt the P&J plane is doing anything with the UT athletics. My firm does business with Teddy and I just don't see that happening. I could be wrong, I'm 95% Gruden, but I just don't see that happening. Sorry guys. I know them personally and I have been on that jet many times, but I just don't see that happening. They have projects in Cali, a few for the state doing tree projects and they also have a few projects in the Tampa area. I am going to assume the president Patrick, was visiting the sites as normal and you guys are grasping at straws on this one. I am still 95% Gruden, but this one is a no for me.

At some point, you have to use logic. Hubbs confirmed on twitter that Currie was indeed in the Charlotte airport a few hours ago.

Someone posted that a B.O.T member stated that Currie was going to Tampa today.

Atl posted yesterday that today was a big day in the search.

All American Airlines flights from Knoxville to Tampa connect in Charlotte.

Currie's Charlotte airport confirmation time was at the same time frame as the Knoxville Tampa connection lands in Charlotte.

UT booster plane landed near Gruden's agent's home in California. Then landed in Tampa in it's next stop.

Where there is smoke, fire is often near by.

I'm running around interior Alaska with no pants on yelling Gruden to the Hill! Temps are around zero, I used to be a guy, now I'm not sure. Guess it's better than frost bite.:eek:

Has a private plane, they took off and flew to within 30 minutes of Gruden's agents home town last night. This morning they flew to Nashville, and then landed in Tampa about an hour ago.

Currie was spotted in Charlotte airport, presumably catching a connecting flight to Tampa to meet with them?

Ya know, last night I went way against my typical prayer and prayed for UT to hire an exceptional coach. I confess I have never done such a thing before.
