If they announce him. I’m telling you. Some of the people that have just plainly told people they were crazy will never live it down. I have their user names seared into my memory haha.

MoU has been signed but the contract itself has not.
I asked and they said that Jon Gruden was not in Knoxville last night.
The issues with the deal getting done still lie primarily on Gruden's side. He said "They're (AD?) in a wait-and-see situation".
Gruden is still concerned about his staff, although it is less of a concern today than it was 2 days ago.
Money is not the issue with the staff.
He began contacting staff over 2 weeks ago to gauge interest, but over the past 48-72hrs he has been working on officially bringing a staff together.
Several members of the potential staff have already agreed in principle, but there are some contract issues with 2 potential staff members, as well as a third vacancy.
I asked and they backtracked on their previous statement that 2 current staff members are being retained. This time they said they didn't know.
They said a face-to-face meeting is happening today in Tampa to hopefully line out a non-staff issue and Currie is going to push to get the contract signed today.
They feel like getting the contract signed today is reliant on Gruden feeling comfortable with the staff situation at this point, as well as lining out this other unknown issue.
BOT has been told that even if this was to fall apart, the AD plans to have a hire by 11/20.
Backup plan is Patterson. Currie has remained in contact with him and had a long conversation with him this past weekend as well as a face-to-face last

If signed today, when will announcement take place?

Am I the only one that gets lost when someone mentions Charlotte? Why is that significant? He hiring Dale Earnhardt jr as our new head coach or something?

It does line up with Pill’s post that a meeting is taking place in Tampa. No idea why he’s flying commercial, but who knows

My only problem with this entire scenario is how could Currie be talking to and have a face to face with Patterson while he is still a sitting coach?

Is Pill's source (thanks for the info by the way Pill) a few days behind on this info? Because this morning several posters were confident he had already signed. Who's right?

So if they’re really pushing Gruden to sign that contract today then that goes right along with ATL Vol saying today would be pivotal in the hunt for Red October.

I think there is really no telling. It could be a him going to Charlotte to meet X or a bridge flight. There are way to many variables.
