I remember thinking when Currie said "an exhaustive search" for the next coach that he meant there were a bunch of guys he intended to interview for the HC job. Now I'm thinking HE will be exhausted from doing all the legwork on this deal.

Grumor- Pure speculation

Brice reporting John Currie flew to Washington, D. C. to interview a candidate on Monday. Perhaps, this was Bill Callahan (Redskins offensive coordinator) being interviewed and signing up to be John Gruden's assistant head coach and offensive coordinator.

Hubbs reporting John Currie was seen in Charlotte, N. C. airport this morning. Last night's MNF game was in Charlotte. Currie meets John Gruden and tells him Bill Callahan has signed on to be on his staff.

only one problem with that... last night was Tuesday not Monday and I believe someone had a photo of him at the charlotte airport Tuesday morning flying out

I'm happy he's out pounding the ground and not cemented to his desk

I'll never forget listening to Cowherd the day after Saban was hired at Alabubba.... He was talking about how no kid wants to go to Tuscaloosa, they want to go to FL or CA to play and how the Tide had sunk into irrelevance forever. Wow, was he ever spot on! Whatever he says on ANY topic has no credibility

I agree, Tee isn’t coming here unless it’s to be coach, or on staff with someone big. We’ll see if it turns out to be true.

It's really the perfect scenario. Gruden may coach at Tennessee a few years and decide he wants to get back into the pro game. Who knows how long he would actually be here. So, Tee could basically be coach in waiting.

IF this happens, there had better be Chucky dolls in checkerboard orange overalls for sale at Alumni Hall the next day!

Maybe, we are getting a Gruden. Jay Gruden as head coach.

Could someone please give one example of a high profile coach telling the media he wanted or was in negotiations for a coaching job? These are professionals working a business deal. They are not concerned about the fan base knowledge of what is happening. The new coach will not be the one to decide when it is time to announce. It would irresponsible for Currie to allow that. If it was prematurely announced and negotiations fell apart where would that leave the AD? Going after the next guy telling him that he was option number two? If I was a top tier coach making a change, it would have to be to team that I am number one. Not second fiddle.....

It will be a done deal soon enough.
