I don’t think Kiffin would do it. I mean ... he used to be head coach here. I think he’s come back as head coach, but not OC. He’ll get another HC job soon enough at a power school. He’s too good, even with the baggage.

And the point that Fulmer wouldn’t want him here is also another reason why this makes no sense.

I really think Kiffy's next stop is an NFL OC gig and the hope of another NFL HC job.

Peyton will not be on staff. He will help where needed. Especially in the off season. He won’t coach though.

The strip is ruined. Dead to me.

The Longbranch closing was the last straw.

Yep...it doesn’t even look right anymore. When I walk by the Lap location, I think of all the people singing Rocky Top in unison on the strip and bringing the cross bar from the day we shut Bo down. The students there now have no clue do they? So sad

I've been accused of having blind faith for a number of years now.

So if all I've got right now, regarding Gruden becoming coach at UT, is blind faith, then let me quote a good book:
"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."

Faith believes so strongly that even without substance, it still hopes.
Faith believes so strongly that even without evidence, it still sees and believes.

Now, here's the kicker about blind faith; the risk/reward. You see, the worst thing that happens if that which we've hoped for does not come to pass is, we're disappointed for a while and move on. But ...... if what we've hoped for comes to pass, the jubilation is off the charts!

When that which has long been hoped for provides substance ...
When that which has been believed provides evidence that is now seen ...

So go ahead, accuse me of having blind faith, and continue on with your miserable life, while I continue to hope and believe.
And if you are proven to be right, then sure, I'll be upset for a little while and get over it, while you continue on in a miserable existence.

And all of VolNation said ...

I'm very glad my devotional came from elsewhere this morning.

Sup in Grudenville?

I am late getting out of bed... (old people lol)... I am guessing Gruden was on Mike and Mike and didn't confirm he was going to take the Tennessee job from he few posts I have read..

I didn't hear the interview.......... does anyone have a link or have a quote?....

I am still excited .... 85%,.. GRUDEN TO THE

HILL

Here you go Coasty....

Gruden:

"Well you know Mike, I haven't talked to anybody and all I really have in my life is my family and football - that's about it. And, uh, I'm real sensitive to the coaches that are out there coaching so I don't speculate.

I just love football. I'm trying to hang on to the job I have. I'm very fortunate to be with the people I'm with. Uh, I don't know what's gonna happen in the future - I just know this: I'm gonna continue to give my best effort to the game ... stay prepared and uh ... I love Monday Night Football. Don't plan on leaving, but as you know in life, you never say never to nothin'."

***Edit*** Sorry posted already. As you can see, I'm a few pages behind after my drive to work.

He's undecided and while UT is waiting, Florida is going to hire the best college coach available in Chip Kelly. Chip Kelly to Florida is equivalent to Nick Saban to Alabama. Another nightmare scenario for the Vols.

Do you really think that Currie would sit idly by and let FL go after Kelly without a fight if he did not have a plan in place?
