Anybody else find it interesting that when David Blackburn stepped down from UTC in June of this year, he did so in order to "pursue other opportunities?" And that nobody has really been able to identify what he's been doing since then?

Agreed. That's why IF he is meeting in Knoxville, it's more than likely done. But then again, not many coaches kids go to the school they may coach at. He could show up to see his son, ride over to curries office and no-one ever know

I got a message from my source this afternoon who changed his tune.... He has been saying forever "Absolutely NO to Gruden" just told me it was 50/50 Gruden to the HILL

Three ways to read Atlanta Vol's presence today.

1. He knows a Big Thing is going to happen this weekend, and is (on his own or as a representative of the AD's office) helping kids and vets to be in Knoxville and at the game during the weekend, to be a part of it (whether the announcement would be during the game or a day or two prior/after, the LSU game would always be associated with any announcement made then).

2. He is disappointed in a turn the coaching search took today, enough so that he doesn't feel like going to the LSU game, and is giving away his tickets to people who will enjoy it more than he would...even the wording of his "duty to AD to uphold at this point" could be read that he is considering leaving his relationship (whatever it is) with the AD. I know, I know, this version absolutely sucks, I hate it too, but it still fits the situation and should be considered.

3. None of the above, his arrival in VN.com today has nothing to do with the coaching search, he just has spare tickets he'd like to go to worthy folks. This is the least dramatic but most likely scenario.

Sorry to do the roller-coaster thing, just couldn't help seeing how Atlanta Vol's presence could be read a few different ways.

SIAP- as to #2: I believe he has a skybox in addition to the tickets he is offering. I think he said he likes to eat and drink without having to fight the lines. I remember a remark about the game experience is much better in the seats vs. skybox. Also remember something about booger-eater Cheek cutting in front of him in the ice-cream line😳. We are blessed to have you here AV!

My dad and his friends went quail hunting there 30 something years ago. They always spoke highly of the place.
