BOT, I actually thought If your going to contact a currently employed coach you have to ask permission of their employer(university).

I may be thinking of the NFL and thinking college.

.....So does that mean your relatives have to also? And your close friends? That's not the rule, and Gruden isn't a coach. He's a media member when he wants to be, but an Alumni can contact another alumni whenever they want to, that's never going to change. Would be stupid rule and beyond impossible to monitor.

Gruden has never recruited, does not know the rules, has not coached in 15 years he would be a coach in name only, but i bet he sure is enjoying all this attention

You could've said the same thing about Pete Carroll when he was hired at USC in 2001. And it's actually been 9 years since he coached and give me a break about being a coach in name only. That's dumb.
