We have 28 year olds playing for the vols ? Wow crazy. What plan are they on?

It depends, obviously. Had several e3 e4 that act very mature but they are usually quick to get promoted and put in charge of their peers that act like idiots.

I have had many long in the tooth Soldiers that were in the mid to late 20s that were very immature. The point being made is that you argued in why Gruden would want to deal with immature college kids vs mature NFL players. I’m stating that there isn’t much of a difference. I could perhaps see other points in the college vs NFL arguements but this isn’t one of them.

Do you watch the NFL trash league. Once those grown men get there big guaranteed contract they only play half the time. Gripe, complain, and cry the rest of the time. Who would want to deal with that.

Yeah all Brooks, sapp and others did were whine, complain. Gotcha.

When beave posted stalking horse my initial thought/memory was in my former career of M&A. Its not terribly common, probably because it's hard to prove from the outside. I've heard of it before but have no direct experience with it. Concep's post was definitely something I haven't though of before and given our outsider knowledge and the extremely secretive, fast paced world of mergers, it's not something with are likely to figure out unless told. But it's still very intriguing.

the stalking horse tactic is not unheard of in political races. its been successfully employed many times.

Anyone else notice Currie during the press conference when asked about Gruden, had this big smile on his face?

I know it may not mean anything but he looked a bit happy when he was asked that question.

Either means he knows it’s BS and isn’t going to comment on it or he knows Gruden is his #1 guy but doesn’t want to spoil anything.
hello Rip Van Winkle !

It is the colors for Kansas State....

I don't mean to be disagreeable about this, or to imply anything, but those appear to be Miami Dolphins colors, don't they?

I mean, we need a woman's eye...we guys can only discern about 6 colors...but his tie looks like Dolphin stuff to me.

That said, he's only NOT wearing Vols orange because he wants to save the big BOOM for announcement day. Doesn't want to steal his own thunder, so to speak.

Go Vols!

Just making a joke dude

I dont think there is a chance he comes.

My thoughts, he would do very well. But would need a very strong staff to deal with the complexities of dealing with kids instead of grown men.

If you can get the best recruits in College you have alot of the work done for you. I think Gruden would be a sell in its self come to UT and I promise I have 32 NFL teams looking at you and the kids will line up just like they do at bama for Saban the NFL machine. And in College getting the best recruits are how you win and I think he can coach good enough to win big.
