SFD, I don't think Gruden is a pawn. If anything, I think he probably wants to jump ship and if what concep posted is correct, perhaps the stars aligned properly. He wants out, espn might merge with dish somehow, and Ergen is willing to write that into the agreement. Maybe that is the benefit offered to Ergen as a result of his stalking horse bid. Also, I would assume a VC firm would be present for such a merger. Usually they are quite instrumental.

Maybe beaver's job was to prep the masses and create the fever pitch , or grand smoke and mirrors campaign, to heighten the demand for Gruden so fans wouldn't know he was obtained in a less than traditional means. Not that Gruden isn't willing. I think he wants to be our coach.

Take it one step further though...Gruden is a pawn in the sense that he had to come to UT to make it happen. Maybe Ergen didn’t want to pay his salary via MNF m, maybe wanted to have the boosters foot it instead...also There is a possibility they are gunning for the whole NFL package... that would probably take away direcTV access to the gameday package and is an obvious revenue stream, even if NFL ratings are down (down ratings will make contract cheaper to acquire).

I haven't read through all 7 pages but John Brice says he contacted Tee Martin and Dale Carter to gauge interest IF he takes the Tennessee job.

You say that like it's just some random hot girl.

It's hard to replicate that kind of sculpted perfection the likes of which Greek poets used to write about.

(I'm a bit behind today)

A fine derriere brings out the Greek Muse in GV....

Currie when ask if he had talked to gruden

I think someone like Gruden could be both a goal and a means to achieve other goals.

WNML is full negagrude. One of us should call in and go full Grude. Jimmy Hyams’ head would explode

When Gruden is announced as HC at TN what I want is for every person who has posted in the thread (yours, truly included) to call those hammerheads at WNML and simply say the following:

"Who is the head football coach?? Say his name.... SAY IT!!"

"According to former 247Sports writer John Brice, Gruden has reached out to some former Vols about potentially joining his coaching staff should he accept the head coaching position at Tennessee."

Could Bank of America Stadium be Jon's last MNF game and first game as UT HC?

I said earlier I believe it could be a possibility. Maybe the television crew WERE here last week filming something for his departure? Would be an easy trip up and fits inside the perceived Currie 48hr window.

Man if Gruden said on MNF tonight "it's been nice working with you Mike, but I've decided to return to coaching and take the job at the University of Tennessee, man."

Poor Freaks servers. It may take days to recover.

Freak inspecting the damage after Gruden is hired:

Guilble? Really? TONS of reports from mainstream media saying UT wants Gruden! Gruden himself said Tennessee is a NCAA job he would take. Gruden himself said that he , and Tennessee talked in 12. Now former players saying Gruden has reached out to them about joining his staff. I don't think you understand the meaning of guilble.

Exactly. He just doesnt want to admit that there is actual real interest from Gruden to take the Tennessee job. Is it a definite that Gruden comes here? Absolutely not.

Nobodies getting riled up over here "buddy". I think my post speaks for itself. We only want Grude vibes in here.

Well, I only want to win the lottery.

Maybe a reading comprehension study would work for you.

Don't be frightened, I have not said Boo to Gruden being our next HC.

Calm down and carry on.
