I also love the reporters who keep making the point about Gruden not wanting the workload that comes with being a college coach, as if being an NFL Head Coach is equivalent to being a substitute teacher or something.

There’re going to down play it until proven wrong

It’s a revolving door.

The guys name is concep and he is one of them, I think. I believe he was straightening out the stalking horse reference. Everyone was jumping to conclusions based on the Wikipedia link someone posted. But there is another...yher stalking horse OFFER. Way different way to interpret.

When beave posted stalking horse my initial thought/memory was in my former career of M&A. Its not terribly common, probably because it's hard to prove from the outside. I've heard of it before but have no direct experience with it. Concep's post was definitely something I haven't though of before and given our outsider knowledge and the extremely secretive, fast paced world of mergers, it's not something with are likely to figure out unless told. But it's still very intriguing.

TIFWIW but I just got home and the very first thing my girlfriend said to me was that she was at the grocery store earlier and a man noticed her UT gear and started talking to her about Gruden and apparently he's pretty close to the program and he told her that we've offered Gruden $10 million for 3 years. Also said that he hasn't accepted the offer yet and he has 1 week to make his decision. Not sure I believe that, but that's what my girlfriend told me he said.

If someone outbid us for a "product", we can recoup losses for time and effort put in. Just imo. so in order for that product to go somewhere else, it would have to be one heck of an offer. No NFL team will touch what we are rumored offering, imo again. Basically he's saying "we can't miss." I'm strictly guessing, though.

I'm not talking about Gruden. This is about major corporations.

Finebaum:

Brice Feldman on.
Talking about Gruden being a long shot. Really just spouting out what the NegaGrudes always talk about. Blah

He is now saying he doesn’t doubt that there’s a chance, and interest in the job from Gruden....but doubts he’ll take it in the end.

Talking Mullen now being a great fit at TN.

All speculation. 🙄🙄🙄

Now talking about Mullen interest at FL. Hahaha

Talking about Chip Kelly at FL. Feldman saying Chip is probably interesting in the talent level in FL, but wonders if the leadership at FL will be favorable to him and the way he wants to coach.

Now on Lane Kiffin. Kinda laughed at him fitting in at UT or FL. Tough sell from immaturity, social media antics, and baggage. Thinking UCF would be a good fit for Kiffin if Frost leaves for a bigger job.

Blah blah blah blah

Exactly.

Unless he’s got Curries thoughts he doesent know shat

What he does now is a lot of work. Lower stress, but still a lot of work. Why are they questioning his work ethic?

it's more of, people think the college job is 100x harder than anylist or nfl head coaching job. To me they are all equaling taxing in their own right. Especially when your as big as Jon gruden.

People act like he just shows up on Monday and commentates then goes home and relaxes all week.

Yeah, absolutely. All the personal interest interviews of him over the years have painted him as a real student of the game, who spends 80+ hours a week in his office studying film, looking for innovation in the Xs and Os, on top of his on-air duties.

If he were in DC working in government, he'd be called a policy wonk. Into computer games and coding, he'd be a geek. Into literature, he'd be a bookworm.

Fact is, he's obsessed with it. And so yeah, it's not like he'd be carrying a heavy work load; because it's not work to him. It's his passion.

That is how he has ALWAYS been painted by those who followed him around for in-depth interviews, anyway.

Lulz. I'm sure some high-up booster or someone in the AD is popping his mouth off at the grocery store to some random chick.

Or he wants to sleep with your gf.

Why does everyone assume he's lazy? Has he ever had that reputation?

Ya hear that Jonny?
They're callin' ya lazy see!
They calls ya soft.
They say 'he's lost a step, he can't cut it anymore see.' They say 'he's 'fraid'a that Saban.'

Well you show 'em Jonny.
You show 'em who's got the goods.
Bring 'em back Jonny.
Bring 'em back.
