Can it be anyone other than Gruden at this point? It will be a disappointment for 90% of the fan base even if it is Frost or the like.

Big. Bro. Harbaugh.

I'd still be happy with Frost or Mullen, but man, I would be seriously letdown if it wasn't Gruden. Would be over it in a day, though.

Wow, Peerless Price is in! Lol.

Just to clarify, this was Peerless offering to coach for Lane Kiffin at Tennessee! Lol... little different level of possibility...

from The Scoop:

Texas A&M: ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg wrote in an ESPN Insider piece (according to this link on SEC Country) that once Scott Woodward makes it official with Kevin Sumlin, “Don’t be surprised if the school kicks the tires on TCU’s Gary Patterson, Washington’s Chris Petersen, Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher and Clemson’s Dabo Swinney (yes, you read that right).” We don’t need to tell our readers Dabo isn’t taking calls. We can relay that Scott Woodward has been doing his homework for quite some time, for in the event he has to make a move. Based on what we know, we would expect Woodward to act with precision on this one.

Nebraska: AD Bill Moos said Monday that head coach Mike Riley will finish the 2017 season. “It’s not like I’ve got a coach to hire this afternoon at 3:30,” Moos said Monday, via ESPN. “Mike Riley deserves to finish the 2017 season. That’s how I operate.” Nebraska is 4-6 this season and needs to beat No. 14 Penn State and No. 20 Iowa to reach a bowl game.

I don't know him either, but all the stories written about him say he's there at 6am leaves at 10pm and is on the road recruiting and evaluating more than any coach in the history of football.

I've heard the arriving early, leaving late and evaluating part. Hadn't heard that he's on the road a lot

I’m gonna be the obvious black sheep here but i don’t really care about early signing day or losing a few recruits even if that’s Cade Mays. If waiting til January lands us Doug Marrone, Gruden, or some other big name then so be it. I’ll take the right coach over an entire class if need be.

Gruden is either a mean-spirited troll of a fanbase/program he claims to love or the next head coach at Tennessee.

No doubt. That said, I never got on board with any of the Grumors last cycle because 1. the AD poopoo'd it and 2. Gruden and his agent did too.

Both sides did that quickly. Neither side has said anything this time. That's really the main reason why I think there might actually be a chance this time.

Finebaum killing us. Calling us an average job, debating if its a better job than MSU. Get outta here with that crap.

Prove them wrong Currie!

This is a top 12 job in college football if not better.

Nailing the hire is important. But we all know sacrificing a recruiting class can set you WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY back.

People should quit listening to Paul Finebaum.

Got y'all eating out the palm of his hand. He's a national version of Basilio and he plays our fanbase like a fiddle.

Fair point about choosing the coach over the class, but the problem is that there is no guarantee you land those guys in January. I’d much rather have Mullen (hypothetically) and salvage a decent class in December than end up being forced into retaining Hoke or something in January.
