Is it untrue to say there’s no longer any obstacle to an announcement, if it’s gruden? No way he finishes out MNF before being announced because of the early signing period. So, why not within the next couple of days?

I think if the deal has truly been agreed upon, they'll want a little distance between Butch being fired and Gruden being announced. They will try and squash the appearance that they were working on a deal while Butch was still coaching.

I’m actually going to answer this...

1). It’s not like he’s been away from football. You either think he could be successful or you don’t, nothing I say will sway you.
2.) You really want is to speculate on that?
3.) after year 1, no. See Saban. But unsuccessful after two years, yea. We need to get the program turned around and the head coach should be held responsible for that.

I got the impression the team he was talking about was his own AD staff. The folks on "the 4th floor," most of whose names the vast majority of us have rarely or never heard.

Not boosters, not necessarily even Phil, just hard-working AD staffers.

Could be wrong about that, but that's how it sounded live.

When I read the transcript earlier I questioned team meaning but like you could not get past he meant "AD staff" and nothing to do with Boosters and them whatnot people !
