Official Jon Gruden thread 32.

Okay everyone, as expected we have some newcomers after the press conference. Some are friend and some are foe.

Don't feed the foes and they'll go away. It's that simple.

You pleas are wasted on me. I once invited two Mormon missionaries into my parents home when my super evangelical conservative Grandma was babysitting me and my sister. I have to push the button.

Having followed this procedure and the intellect of the posters for a long time. I feel that everthing that I see points to only one conclusion. I believe the ball is fully in Grudens camp. I believe if he wasn't in play during the 5 pm news the AD would have cut the option clean at that point. I am 100% Gruden JMHO.

I totally agree plus the deal on his desk must include everything he ask for.....seems simple.

I gotta believe a few things point directly toward Gruden.
1. The Buyout- we aren’t paying the full buyout to hire Mullen or Frost!
2. The lack of a search firm- as stated it deflects blame and is a fallback, our AD wants the credit for an amazing hire.
3. Comments of Misdirection- a few items from the press conference seem almost verbatim what has been quoted by a few in this thread.

Soon!

When Gruden is hired, we should take preacher’s troll list and dedicate a thread to publicly shaming every person on it.

Depends on grudens schedule

I think the whole delay in firing Butch had nothing to do with Butch or his contract and everything to do with the timeline that Gruden will be available. If Gruden is expecting to be fired by ESPN, then he will likely have a hefty payout coming his way. There is no reason to walk away a few weeks early and lose that huge payout.

Squints you seem very intelligent by reading your posts and the vocabulary you use and such. Just curious, what's your opinion on Gruden coming?

Thank you for your kind remarks.

I have been cautiously optimistic, and have held my emotions in check by reconciling to, "I'll believe it when I see it." With that said, I have followed this frenzy since day one (starting years ago). From what I've seen posted, what I've heard and what pieces I have put together (along with other contributors), I'll put it this way, if he doesn't come this time, it won't be because we didn't try. I'm not a believer in percentages, so I will not publish what percentage we have in Gruden coming. Never really understood that anyway, he either comes or he doesn't, and it only takes .0001% to fold this deal like a cheap suit.

I'm all Grude and believe all the pieces are in place, we just need him to maneuver his king into a checkmate.

ESPN will not cut him loose until after the season. Cmon folks

If nothing else, change is exciting. We all had our breaking point with Butch. For some, year 1 and for others maybe just recently. I find it hard to believe that there would be anyone left wanting to see more from him. So in the spririt of togetherness and the holidays, here’s to unifying this fan base under the common goal of getting back to dominance.

Go Vols!!!
