Not taking up for the scheme but players make coaches look better or worse Than they are. Insert nfl caliber offense players last year and the offense produced great. This year we have1 who is a freshman OL and 1RB. That’s what happens.

Hank, you are around the team a lot. Do you feel the team will play inspired the next two weeks or have they checked out?

MackenZie is the the big ? For me he has the size but his motor and effort is horrible. Hopefully the next coach gets more out of him.

He's been a bust in my mind up until this point. A common theme with Butch Jones' star recruits.

Gundy has only won twice against his archrival. Not that I wouldn't kill to have 2 wins against Alabama in 13 years given where we are now, but our sights should be set higher for the next decade. His teams also don't play defense. He's an exceptional coach in the Big 12, but I am not convinced he would be super successful here.

I really believe it was more the coaching on OL than players. Granted the lack of SC hurt too but we had some strong Ol the first couple of years but it was all the same stuff. They were swiss cheese since day one and the blocking scheme didn't work. It will be interesting to see if a new coach with a new scheme they will look better.

I have a question since he is no longer employed by a university is he able to contact recruits? If I was the university I would be like you leave us and our recruits alone or we will bury you and you will never coach football again.

Yes scheme should cater to your players strengths. Dobbs in the spread and running zone reads is pretty optimal for his skill set.

Do you think any of Our QBs on this current roster have the same skill set?

And this goes for Lineman , RBs and WRs as well. If you have a bunch of guys who are better suited for high pointing passes down the field than why run everything inside of 15 yards. If we don’t have tackles who can maul DEs why are we running powers and edge rushes? ...
Hurd in zone reads off tackle... why? Lol

The common denominator in our being a bad football across the board and getting little to no production at nearly every position group is Butch Jones

Butch Jones has been Bad every single year he has been here. We paid him no mind Bc we kept saying “o the roster is bad, let him bring his players in...”

Now look!
