So we are going to be bad forever according to you?

No lol. We can be solid next year year. There’s no excuse for not being bowl eligible next year. But Aub, Bama, and UGA are gonna be automatic losses next year in my mind and WVU, SC, and UF will he toss ups. Remember it will be our first year in maybe a drastically different offense/defense.

So, it was okay for him to try out for other jobs last year, but now he's throwing a pissy fit? Career destroying things may come out when you start throwing tantrums burning bridges.

I’m not a butch fan at all but we have some bad football players. I’ve said the past 2 years that butchs recruiting is extremely overrated. He and Welton especially were bad evaluators.

Disagree. Scheme and player development is the fall of Butch Jones, we have good players and had good recruiting classes.

Sorry but there is nowhere to go but up.

This fanbase put up with an awful lot over Jones's tenure. He was well-compensated for his efforts.

If what Rucker is saying is true, then...

Well, I should hold my tongue. But I am displeased.

-The right coach will move Trey Smith to LT, Richmond to RT, and make draft picks out of both of them (I'll reserve judgement on any OL due to Jones's pee wee league blocking scheme).
-Kelly and Chandler have the potential to be the best RB tandem in the SEC, especially with Guice, Chubb, and Michel likely gone.
-If Gualden returns and the right coach moves Byrd to corner that will be a nice tandem.
-Warrior and Abernathy could be a potentially nice tandem at safety.
-Kirkland and Bituli on the field together will hurt some fools.
-The right coach could talk Jennings back. JJ, Calloway, Johnson, and Palmer would be a nice corps in the right system.
-Gruden, Kelly, or Mullen would instantly upgrade QB play.

8 wins would be a good job, as is the case with any transition. Especially since S&C is the most broken part and would take the most time to fix. I actually expect the new guy to do better the 1st than the 2nd because of all the roster turnover that could occur then.

Richmond never sniffs being drafted. It doesn't matter who the coach is. Blame your opinion on Rivals.com. He was never the kind of talent the recruiting sites made him out to be.

So this big, expensive and explosive bit.

If there is any truth to that at all, I can only think of two names.

Gruden
Chip Kelly

What if Gruden is the smokescreen for Kelly?

If true it certainly narrows the VQ hotboard down. Gruden or Kelly. If Gruden says no, Kelly would be my second choice anyway. Sounds good to me!

My main concern is just in the trenches. I disagree with your thinking that we're think at RB. We have Kelly (if he returns) , Chandler, Fils-Aime and Jordan. That's a really solid group of tail backs. I like our talent at the skill positions and I feel good about Guarantano going forward. I actually liked what I saw from McBride last night as well for the most part. But the issues on the lines are enough to keep next year's team from winning much more than 7 IMO.

I think the lack of development and poor personnel decisions (and injuries) has tainted you guys opinion of both lines.

We still have

McKenzie
Tuttle
Johnson
Picou
Bennett
Crosby
Taylor
Phillips
Johnson
Butler
Blakey

Smith
Richmond
Johnson
Tatum
Locklear
Brooks
Niehaus
Calbert

All or most of these guys we were very happy about and were fairly highly rated. Some have been pressed into action before they were ready. Some haven't been developed and coached properly.

I see talent there. OL depth is lacking. With the right coaching and another good year of S&C and a good finish to recruiting this year we will be ok.

Would be awesome but I don’t think we can get Grand Valley State’s bocce ball squad to play us in football.

Haha. He might ease back up to Ferris State to become their new champions of life coordinator. Or maybe he'll begin a new career cleaning swimming pools like his mentor Debord.

Gotcha..that just sounded like a whole lot of doom. I'm hoping good coaching can bring some of their talent out, and instill some work ethic into them. It soundslike Butch gave them a resort mentality.

I would venture to say we don't know what we have . Under a competent coach Richmond may shine. Everybody goes on about QB whisperers why not an OL whisperer.
