Basically because he's just weird man. If you don't have a homegrown tomato like a Majors or Fulmer, I'm of the opinion that you kind of need to be a fit here. I think Leach would just be a fish out of water in this part of the country. All just an opinion of course, but I do think it's an important thing to think about.

This.

Add in his O. They are #128 in rushing offense at 80-90 yards per game. Can't do that crap in the SEC and win. No one dimensional offense will win in the SEC. Look what happened to UGA yesterday.

We have one big time SEC OL/DL (Trey Smith)
Thin but talented at RB
Bad at CB (assuming we lose Gaulden)
Good at Safety
Solid at LB with DK and DB
Mediocre at WR
And who knows at QB.

My main concern is just in the trenches. I disagree with your thinking that we're think at RB. We have Kelly (if he returns) , Chandler, Fils-Aime and Jordan. That's a really solid group of tail backs. I like our talent at the skill positions and I feel good about Guarantano going forward. I actually liked what I saw from McBride last night as well for the most part. But the issues on the lines are enough to keep next year's team from winning much more than 7 IMO.

So this big, expensive and explosive bit.

If there is any truth to that at all, I can only think of two names.

Gruden
Chip Kelly

What if Gruden is the smokescreen for Kelly?

Again, not exaggerated at all. The roster was every bit as bad as advertised. The roster next year will lack depth and development but will have more talent than 5 years ago.

Look at the ‘13 roster. It isn’t some black hole of depravity. 15-20 players on that team spent some time on NFL rosters, maybe more. Not counting the players who declared early instead of playing for Butch. Personally, I don’t think it was as terrible as was preached to me. Last post on it, not worth arguing, just different opinions.

Who knows what we have anywhere on this team after this coaching staff. All I know is we have some highly recruited players on both sides of the ball. No way they all suck. I respect your opinion but, I do not agree.

I’m not a butch fan at all but we have some bad football players. I’ve said the past 2 years that butchs recruiting is extremely overrated. He and Welton especially were bad evaluators.

I’ve thought about that from time to time. Chip Kelly would be an awesome hire.

-The right coach will move Trey Smith to LT, Richmond to RT, and make draft picks out of both of them (I'll reserve judgement on any OL due to Jones's pee wee league blocking scheme).
-Kelly and Chandler have the potential to be the best RB tandem in the SEC, especially with Guice, Chubb, and Michel likely gone.
-If Gualden returns and the right coach moves Byrd to corner that will be a nice tandem.
-Warrior and Abernathy could be a potentially nice tandem at safety.
-Kirkland and Bituli on the field together will hurt some fools.
-The right coach could talk Jennings back. JJ, Calloway, Johnson, and Palmer would be a nice corps in the right system.
-Gruden, Kelly, or Mullen would instantly upgrade QB play.

8 wins would be a good job, as is the case with any transition. Especially since S&C is the most broken part and would take the most time to fix. I actually expect the new guy to do better the 1st than the 2nd because of all the roster turnover that could occur then.

I agree with this. Development has been atrocious but I refuse to believe there isn't talent there.

If true, then let all the dirty laundry and bones come out of his F'n closet... He is showing fans the true side of him now. Makes it much easier to run him into the ground. He could have easily taken the classy road and helped his stock. Sexton has to be pissed this is all coming out because his stock is plummeting like Blue Star...

The Wallace guy just wrote an article saying the following,

“Tennessee boosters have quietly reached out to Jon Gruden over the past few weeks & have offered him a contract of $7.6 Million that would max out around the $10.2 Million dollar range per year including incentives, as we’ve been reporting for weeks now with Gruden even being allowed to use Tennessee booster Jim Haslam’s private plane in a way to entice him to accept the offer.”

Once again I do not agree. I think this scheme has not benefited our players at all. Calloway was lights out when we got him the ball yet he couldn't get targeted for like 3 games after blowing up in the first 2. We have had terrible coaching and piss poor player development. Don't even get me started on Bituli not starting.

Knowing our last AD I may be wrong, but I'd expect the terms of the buyout to be that he needs to be hands off on recruits. If we could prove he was meddling that should cancel the buyout.

Who is the Wallace guy? Interesting because it's the same numbers some of our "insiders" have said
