That's is on the spot reinforcement and really nothing wrong with that.

Putting someone on the spot in front of his peers and making him write something degrading about himself is wrong.

That's the sign of a control freak and ego maniac. A person does things like that to show control and build himself up. You can make someone better/stronger without degrading or tearing them down.

People who do things like that are about themselves and not fixing the problem.

And this is coming from a NCO that made a soldier dummy cord his weapon to himself because he kept losing it.

I'm all about discipline and getting the best from people, but there are better ways to do it than what Butch did.

What he did creates resentment and anger. That is energy that can be best used to make things better and not wasted on crap like that.
