Grude On!!!

I briefly saw the tweet as well. It definitely was aimed at the people saying Gruden isn't worth it and such. He basically said to those people...sit back and watch.

If that is abuse for being soft, I feel sorry for our country's future.

In this case, it is about respecting someone's religious beliefs. It wasn't Butch's cussing but this kid did not use language and to toughen him up, he had him to verbally in front of the team say I am a f n puss y several times. It was mental abuse when you consider religious beliefs of the young man and embarassing him in front of his peers. I wish he would've punched the real puss in the face.

Tennessee's fan base has proven a million times how loyal they are. Even in down times, Bama went through the same things in the 90's. Bandwagon fans are everywhere. If Tennessee makes the right hire, the whole state will be clad in Orange! SOON!!!!! GRUDEN TO THE HILL!!!!!!

Honestly those traitors can stay in their ugly ass crimson and take their lumps if Gruden comes.

I’m honestly shocked they fired Butch, that’s all I have. Here’s to hoping the rest of this plays out right.

I'm shocked it took this long. I hated the hire. Admittedly, I've been pissed and have suffered from BVS since the Monday following the '08 USCe game.

I've said it multiple times throughout this cycle, the hire is more important than the fire. Should it be gotten wrong again this time, our recovery time could be as unpredictable as the weather (if ever).

Ok, before we get off on an off-topic discussion, I'm not saying the Vols aren't Tennessee's team. In any county in TN, there would be more UT fans than any other school, but in my experience from living in, and traveling in, other states there seems to be less loyalty than some states. I grew up in Chattanooga, went to UT, and now live in the Nashville area. I love the Vols and there has always been a huge contingency of Vols in those areas, but you sure see a lot of bumper stickers and flags flying for Bama, Ole Miss, Auburn, and other schools these days.

Not trying to pick a fight here. We all love the Vols and want the same thing.

Back to Gruden.

Yeah, not fighting with you, just sharing info that disagrees with your experience as a counter-weight.

Everywhere I've lived...and that includes California (Monterey), Kansas (Leavenworth), Pennsylvania (Carlisle), two different cities in North Carolina (Fayetteville and Wilmington), upstate New York (West Point), three places in Virginia (Norfolk and two different towns in the DC area), not to mention both Tullahoma and Lebanon, Tennessee...everywhere I've lived, I've seen the flags of multiple different college teams. Including Vols orange (haha, at least one, because I was always flying it in one way or the other).

So your anecdotal evidence that you've seen the colors of other teams in Tennessee isn't very telling to me. I lived in Tampa, just a couple of hours south of Gainesville, and saw plenty of Tennessee (and Georgia, FSU, LSU) colors there.

In short, we can't go by simple anecdotal experience. Have to use some kind of objective measurements for it to be trusted.

Tell you what: next time you're out and about, start counting team colors. Be objective and honest about it. Keep going until you get a decent representative sample, not just a handful but at least dozens of counts. See if they aren't mostly Vols orange. That's the result I've found, and it has been backed up by more comprehensive surveys like that map I linked.

Go Vols!

Its good to know that Fulmer and Peyton are involved.
