He's had a long time to be working on this. Texas had Herman announced within 48 hours. He's on the clock. Either he really was trying to keep Butch and hasn't done anything worthwhile yet or he's got it done.

Why? 48hrs has nothing to do with it other than someone said that would happen. If it is not obvious yet, John is working on his own timeline
