Given how hyped fan base is for coaching change, Currie would only have 2 reasons to not shoot down rumors immediately

1. he hasn’t yet made a decision on the current coach

Or

2. He’s made the decision but doesn’t want to fuel speculation by announcing anything until end of season when he can speak to search process or announce replacement


I will also state unequivocally, we cannot wait until end of season to announce CBJ is not coming back unless his replacement is announced at same time (within 48 hours). Running a full blown search process at season’s end will create a Recruiting disaster (far worse than it already is)

Again, a coaching search won't create a recruiting disaster, Florida has been without McElwain for two weeks now and I'm fairly positive they're probably doing a coaching search, yet they have only lost one recruit so far.

On the flip side, we have kept Jones longer than he should've been allowed to stay and we've lost three from this class, including our top target, and we've lost one from next years class, so it would appear that maybe a coaching search would help and not hurt

My Dad worked with Thornton years ago, at Salem carpets. John left to start the business that made him rich...er. They are still friendly and catch a game every other year or so. I read him what those 2 screenshots said, and he told me, "Of all of this BS, inside information you've shared with me in the past, this is the first that seems plausible. John's M.O. is throwing phones. If he doesn't have one handy, he'll say, 'Get me a phone!'." And then he laughed and laughed and told me a couple of phone throwing stories. So, according to my retired, 70 year old father, Thunder throws phones, and it's funny, LOL.
