Didn't Skeeter say he was officially out of the loop in January? The fact that he says Gruden's name has not been mentioned tells me that's the case... Even if Gruden isn't the next hire, there's been too much chatter from those who are well-connected to say that he is not in the discussion.

Idk what to believe. I think we may have all gotten fooled by a beaver. Lol Just doesn’t make sense with people like Swain and others talking about Gruden. I want to believe, because if not, we are just going to end up with another coach from a smaller school and hope he pans out all because we want to save money and it’s financially beneficial for the university.

The rumor about the Bucs was brought up earlier this week. I don't know if DTO heard something new that made it more credible or if he was simply restating the rumor.

I don't see it. I think if he was going back to the NFL he has other options better than Tampa.

Implication being that the leaks would be planned. Was specifically told to expect absolutely false info.

I'm wondering if the Bucs thing could be part of that. Get everyone worried that Gruden bolts at the last minute, and then have Currie play savior of the deal and make the announcement.

I still don't know anything about timing of any announcement. But I am absolutely convinced that the parties have all agreed to terms. That's why I think the Bucs info is smoke. And why, though I really would love an announcement right now, the timing doesn't impact my belief that Grude times are coming.

I can absolutely get behind that. No offense to DTO but isn't his source on the AD side? If not I apologize but I can really see it buy a little time, get everybody up in arms then Currie save the day.

I'm personally done with speculation and message board insiders. I'm just playing the wait and see game from this point forward. I'm holding out some hope that it's Gruden, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'll have a hard time giving a **** next season if google mcgoogly is hired and if Butch is still coaching I won't waste another minute on Tenn football. That's just where I'm at, at this point. I'm tired of being let down.

We all heard early and often, that Butch would finish the season!
It was only recently, that some new info came out, saying he would be fired after this game!
