Star Wars: Episode VIII (December 15, 2017)

Thought this might provide some food for thought.

I do think George wanted Jar Jar to be a big villain in the prequels but scrapped it bc of the backlash. It would have slightly redeemed Jar Jar and made him more tolerable in episode l.

Lucas isnt that clever. That is a fan theory. Jar jar was always meant to be comic relief for kids. I do think the backlash reduced his role in the next two movies but it had nothing to do with him being a villain.

They must be really happy with Last Jedi to pin Johnson down to helm an entire trilogy. That’s a good sign.

And of course they would start a TV show exclusively on their new streaming package.

A live-action TV show is the biggest thing I've been wanting for the SW universe. I wouldn't buy a subscription for the CBS Star Trek show but I'd definitely do it for Star Wars.

Too late. Disney is going to drive it into the ground. $$$$$$

True. Some of my family went to Disneyland a few months ago and they recorded a lot of the attractions and parades and all that, and the amount of Star Wars junk is crazy.

I threw up a little in my mouth watching Darth Vader have a dance off. I mean it’s silly and all and I get it, but that was just a little too much.

The SW section that is opening in 2019 is going to be awesome though. It will be like walking into a movie.

I love the Star Wars universe. It has huge room for expansion. The Trek franchise has never been in the same league.

I love both for different reasons.

I wish Trek would go back to being heavier on real science fiction concepts like it was originally intended instead of trending to action/adventure in space.
