Not sure why people think Currie's acting unpredictably. He's doing exactly what he said he was going to do after the UF loss-- wait till the end of the season or close to it and evaluate everything then. All the rest has been speculation by people not named Currie, who don't represent the UTAD.

Jackets win so happy about that but the play call and the way Funte handled the end of the game was very Butch like. Driving the ball and 3rd and 1 and GT not being able to stop the run and they throw an incomplete pass and the clock stops. Then they use a timeout to figure out a play with clock not running. I am thinking if you don't make it on 3rd and one the. You already should know next play BUT if you do call a timeout and all you can come up with a shot into the endzone. Incomplete and now Jackets can run out the clock. Bad end game play calling and time management. Pass on Funte.

Vol fans are some of the weirdest. Only here is a coach judged on one performance. Have a great game? He is the best, lets hire him. Have a bad game? Nah, he isnt any good. Lol.

They're vastly different. It's not about just coaching. It's about everything the college job encompasses.

You think he's just going to come out of his comfy job and set the college football world on fire? That's just as outlandish. I think the guy can coach and I think he would do very well, but I simply don't think he will want to take the leap back into coaching.

Recruiting wouldn't be a grind for him. He is the closer. Saban isn't out on the recruiting trail pounding the pavement. Gruden has a comfy job and already spends more time on football than most coaches probably do. I don't think he is afraid of hard work.

I will give you the immature teenager part.

The NFL is much more difficult to have success than college. It's set up so that everyone is on a level playing field. College isn't like that. The best recruiters have the advantage and he would kill it in recruiting based on name alone for the first couple of years.

I have NO idea if he actually wants to coach college ball. Probably doesn't. I am not, nor have I ever argued that. If you want to say "he probably doesn't want to coach college ball" fine, you won't get any argument out of me. But when people say he is t likely to succeed, I think that's balderdash. If he decided to do it, it wouldn't be in some half hearted effort, he would make sure he didn't fail

Cracking me up on whether Gruden could recruit or not. Closer - not recruiter. He watches film until his eyes fall out daily. He tells the recruiting coordinator who he wants and the assigned coaches do the contacting. Occasional phone calls, texts, and campus visits until the close is ready. He's not going to need to cast a huge net like Butch does to boat his 25.

This is all about him. Does he want to coach? He turned down the Colts among several NFL last year per BR. Will know - soon.
