Well stated bro! This is NOT GRUDEN Fantasy Land!
My two biggest concerns are,
1. Does he want to be the next UT Football coach? I have yet to see any evidence that he sincerely wants to coach at UT next season.
2. If he does, how do the powers that be get past his current endorsements with Hooters and Corona Ect? State employees can't have their own endorsements. As the HC Gruden would be an employee of UT and thus a state employee.
Being all in on the Gruden hire myself, I would not call it a "Fantasy land" ... There is a lot of smoke (more than 2012) that seems to indicate it has legs....
In answer to your questions lets start with
2. I don't believe the endorsements are a huge issue as they can be dealt with, with money.... Some have indicated that Gruden would be paid in ways that did not include money .... that is interesting and should not be overlooked
now the
1. I have always contended that Gruden IS the wildcard in this.... Most in here refuse to hear this but there are two scenarios about what the break down was last time.
a) UT refused to give up the control Gruden demanded and Hart balked at hiring him
b) UT meet all his demands and he himself walked away, I have one person I trust that still contends this was the case and was in this thread in 2012 and posts here seldom now.... but he told me that for this reason Gruden WILL NOT be the next coach at UT
So I guess it is up to which side you want to believe... I do believe If Gruden wants the job, UT will do what it takes to meet his demands... the BIG question for me has always been ... Does he want the job
1. some say he once called it his dream job and hold tight to that interview... but these are the same that immediately discount the interview where he said he would get a college in trouble if he coached in college
2. I am hoping that he wants to get back in coaching bad enough, and the UT jobs fits his timeline, his wife wants to come home and his ESPN job going away just makes the pieces fit together
TIME WILL TELL
