I had a wonderful breakfast with my parents this morning. They're in their mid-70's.

We got to talking about the state of Tennessee football. They were mid-level boosters for many years. Not anymore.

Interesting to hear this from them about John Currie. He took them out to lunch at Calhouns way back in the day. He was just a kid, Mom says.

Dad goes on to say he's been very impressed with how Currie is holding everything close to his vest. About how this administration is being tight-lipped.

They loved hearing me telling them about this thread. Dad especially got a kick out of our MNF truck adventures.

Mom's sister and brother in law are Auburn fans. They used to live in the Tampa Bay area. Already, they are running down Gruden as a coach. She believes they are nervous about Gruden coming here.

They both are sick and tired of mediocrity. They want to see Tennessee at the top again.

They believe John Currie will be everyone's favorite AD when it's all said and done.

If this is true and if Gruden is not the guy, I would be happy with Patterson in a heart beat. I live in Dallas and Patterson can coach. I believe he could keep our class together also. That being said, I'm all for Gruden if he hires a great staff and lets them coach. Scares me that he's not been in the heat of the battle for over 10 years.

I'm on mobile 90% of the time..switching to PC to bold is hard. I wasn't here in 2012 so I have the youthful exuberance that this is a done deal. I'm all in. I'm the go big or go home type though.

I just want them to announce Gruden soon. I work with UGA, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, Clemson, Bama folks and everyday they give me a hard time. One of them even taped the bashing on 680 fan today about us screwing the Patterson deal so he could play it for me. I can't wait to rub in their faces. Surprisingly the Fla folks have been rather quite.

On a side note I saw a rather large fellow last night in the murder Kroger riding in one of those "little rascal" mobile carts. He was hammered and kept running into the shelves. He also had an MIT fleece pullover on. I started laughing and ask my wife if he could be the Beaver. Almost took a picture of him, then I felt bad.
