Very high risk but might be worth it if you can afford it. While the bitcoin and other are secure from a technology point, individual wallets (especially those on phones) are less secure and can and have been hacked by good old social engineering. It's been happening to some online Poker players.

Honestly, I think it's most likely that bubba was merely providing verification of identity as discussed earlier. But my inner Goonie wants there to be a secret message, hence my question to MIT. :)
