I thought the same thing. Maybe they slept in the trucks earlier. I believe they can only drive for so long before they have to pull over.

They could have driven 20 more minutes to a much more accessible exit, the Strawplains exit. Easy in and easy out. Cedar Bluff, man, truckers would avoid it if they could. I believe there's a very valid reason to stop at this particular hotel.

I'll concede that, but a trip from Green Bay to Charlotte is no more than two rotations.

For example, I drive first, reach my hours. You drive and reach yours. If not already there, switch again and we're there shortly after this last switch. Can't drive from GB to Charlotte without needin a hotel for a non-Pilot sponsored shower? Doesn't wash with me.... pun intended.

I haven't seen this mentioned yet, so I'll throw it out there.

These are OTR trucks with sleeper cabs. Why are they at a hotel and not at an off-ramp, a rest area or an obscure truck stop?

If they're just "on their way" to Charlotte, they could've kept driving in or stopped somewhere besides a hotel in a heavily trafficked part of town.

I can answer that ... because even though sleepers are nice nothing beats a good bed and a hot shower all in one place . Also I can tell you as most would that drive no matter what google maps or your GPS tells you , you will almost always choose the “ Big Road” over smaller hwys . The few miles you save ( if you aren’t in a hurry) is never worth the higher mph you can average on the big road . I’ll go ahead and say West Virginia hills are a nightmare

Bitcoin is trading at over 7000 fwiw, so it is quite valuable to some. No idea how this ties in, but bubba did say not all payment would be in USD. Perhaps he is saying this proof that there were other ways to pay? Or implying he is involved in the payment process.. I’m somewhat familiar with bitcoin, but can’t offer much more than what others have stated. That is the “address” of his bitcoin wallet though. Takes out the middle man when trading the currency by having your own identifiable address, allows you to send directly to someone.

I have been such a downer in the thread, especially lately, and for whatever reason, these trucks and the stakeouts and the pure nuttiness of it all have given me hope of a Butch-less future with a superstar as his replacement.

Asked the husband and he said no way would his drivers stay in a busy area like that. He said ESPN might have a contract with holiday inn for preferential rates, but there are many of them in the area. Cedar bluff is a driver's nightmare....too many people, too many lights, too many obstacles.

He just added the one in cedar bluff is probably more expensive than the ones further out, so they would need a good excuse to pick a pricier hotel.

I do agree with this unless they were running out of time ( E-log) this we don’t don’t and is very possible that they just ran out of running hours
