So it's been a long day of traveling back from Antigua. Y'all tellin me that Gruden still hasn't been announced and that butch is still trainwrecking his shoddy carpentry work?

That is all of us. I like to discuss other potential coaches but nearly everyone I know grunanimously wants Gruden. To me it is like saying if I can't have Reagan/Kennedy I want Trump/Obama. Or insert your prefered leaders. There is our first choice and everyone else reeks of sacrifice, or worse.

I'm in the same camp Hawk. My son went to a gymnastics competition last weekend in Atlanta to watch his sister. He came walking into the house Sunday wearing a GA hoodie. I don't know when I have been more humbled when it comes to sports, because this kid is 12 and does not know what real UT football looks like. Hes been a UT fan all his young life but doesnt have the glory days to hang on to like we do.

The assistants will pay for themselves. Sure, there will be an up front fee, but look at the Bama model. They don't worry about money at this point for staff because it takes care of itself.

Can someone explain why every sports writer and sports talk radio host in Knoxville is so scared to say anything anti Butch ? Lets really look at this, I live in Nashville and here thay all say Butch has no chance of coming back and they hear that info from sources around the program and then you get the oppsite from Knoxville. It is almost like they are so fearful of the powers that be they are scared to say what they think or know.

I get the part of UT being the only show in town and job security and all that but when everybody else in the country and I mean everybody is saying Butch is gone are they that scared or what?

If UT keeps Jones for another year we will be the laughing stock of every major sports media outlet in the country and what I think hurts the most is once again we will give the A**WHIPS at ESPN more ammo the use against us and our state.( I remember the "Trailor Park Frenzy" quite well as well as the UCONN Pat dust ups that in large part was perpetuated by them.)

The Haslams time has past and the power players seem to be changing. I can only hope that we can get back to the point when it was fun to watch us play and we had a chance everytime we stepped on the field. It is sad the kids in their early 20's have no idea what huge fun being a VOL fan really is.

If Gruden is actually hired we'll get to invite all the neighbors over to symbolically check out our new Vette................if history is the best predictor of future performance..............we'll be showing off the minivan that has some miles but still looks pretty good....again.

WOW a beaver sighting last night

Let’s just hope the surprise is we got our guy and Butch is gone and we will get Cade back and not something like I was just trolling and BJ is back for another year lol

I am truely amazed at how many in the media think Gruden coaching at UT is laughable and not possible. Is that because of our past hires or because they don’t think TN could ever land someone as big as him in our current state and become a top football team again?
