Yes, many years ago. really enjoyed it. Love to go on the Yorktown at Patriots Pt. in Charleston too..

Off the Gruden topic but I though I’d share my Yorktown story. Took my mother in law to see it several years back. Her dad had left her and her mother when she was little just before the war, so her mom took the family to Baltimore and went to work for Eastern Aircraft where she was a real life Rosie the Riveter, working on tail sections. MIL said she used to play jacks with rivets. Did my homework before we got there and was able to show her an Avenger and tell her that the Avenger was only made in a couple of plants, one of them being Eastern and that her mother (by now long since tragically passed) could have very well put the rivets in the tail of that plane. As the tears welled up in her eyes she stared beaming with pride, and then my tears started. Great experience. There will never be another generation like that.

When you watch the Blue Angels practice and follow up with the NAS Pensacola museum, it's hard to beat. Got buzzed by the Blue Angels yesterday on Orange Beach--a routine they do after they return home from an air show. AWESOME.

A great memory I had with my wife was eating dinner at Crabs on the Gulf on Pensacola Beach. We sat on the second level balcony seating looking over the beach, and just before sunset, the Blue Angels did a flyby, literally at eye level. Still get chills remembering. That was a good day.

What other championship programs give their fans as much insight into the program as UT does? How many press conferences does Saban do per week?

If I were a big time coach coming to UT i'd tell them right off the bat that the media gets one day a week other than game days. One HC press conference. UT has a media circus running around the football program that no coach should have to ring lead.

somebody should write a solid post as to why jon gruden would be a great hire for us. And then we all copy paste it into our signature. That will show em

early in his career, Brett Favre made an "impossible" throw of about 35 yards between a CB and the safety for a TD and he was asked why he even tried the throw.....

his answer was "Because I can".

the simple answer to your question why Gruden would be a great hire for UT.....

Because he is.

Since Gruden is coming...(let’s just have fun and assume)...

How big of a learning curve will he have to coaching again and the college game? Does he just dominate from day 1 or do we have to wait a couple years?

This mentality will die, if all the Grumors are true.

That was a great ESPN special with Favre and Gruden. It is on YouTube, I would highly recommend if you love football.

This Shell guy is a goon. All he said to support it is "following Vegas". Seems he understands Vegas about as well as investing. Entire website is full of dead links, typos, etc. Either a troll or, worse, outright investment scam. Registering trademarks for complete fluff. What bushleague. But so are most "money managers" - salesmen with associate degrees that would never dare show you their alpha graph.

Crabs was a great place. I pretty much lived at Flounders though.

Agree. The press starting from minute zero would be insane. Makes sense they’re already planning for it. Who gets to be in for real on the inside will be interesting.

Here she is.
