From what I've gathered, reserves (and even the CG) seem to have pilots who are previously military trained (e.g. once full-time, active duty). I hung up fighter pilot long ago, way too old for that. Simply put, can reserve duty servicemen be trained to fly rotor or fixed-wing aircraft?

Yes. Better shot with National Guard though. You have to put a flight warrant packet in and take a chapter 2A physical.

I think there are, afaik, a couple of fluid processes that, perhaps, will not change the ultimate outcome but could vary what it looks like getting there.

Hawk can probably tell you more about the physical requirements and flight training portion. I just a lowly ground based First Sergeant in the Reserves. I don’t get to do the cool flashy stuff like flying.
