Good morning to all my OG's, and even a few new converts.
I'm just making a brief check-in because I'll be out of pocket a good part of the day. Keep the faith, tip your waiters and waitresses, return your seatbacks to their full and upright position, Grude-on, and SOON.
GO VOLS, Go Away Butch, and most importantly GO SCOTS!
So if Gruden does indeed come to UT. I have some concerns.
1. Can he adapt to the college game?
2. He's been out coaching since 2009, has the game passed him by?
3. Does he fully understand the efforts needed to be successful in CFB and win at the level of Nick Saban. It will require 80 -100 hours of week of work during the season.
4. Can he beat Georgia, Florida, Alabama and the rest of the SEC on a regular basis?
5. Is he willing to deal with an overly zealous and rabid fan base that often have unrealistic expectations?
When I was a kid, I was boxing competitively out of Jackson...one of my true rivals was a kid from Savannah by the name of Junior Short. We became friends over time, and another kid from Savannah was a good friend by the name of Stan Holt. Do you know either of them?
I hope it happens.... If nothing else, to see those toothless hillbillies who haven't let the Kiffin thing go years later kiss his ass after he helps us start winning again.
