Official Jon Gruden Thread XXVII

Here we go again, we worked ourselves up to Gruden being a done deal and it is becoming more apparent that nobody knows anything and we are probably still going to have Butch in 2018.

While it was promising to hear some of the things Currie was saying today, like the current state of our athletic department being unacceptable and expecting championships at Tennessee, I think Currie's main focus is on upgrading facilities and bringing in more money to appease the gray hairs. Until the mindset at Tennessee changes towards actually wanting to win championships and doing whatever it takes to do so, not just speaking about it, we will continue to have the same mediocre results.

Knucklehead Vol, you know what to do...

I tell ya what man... it’s about to start getting uncomfortable on that side of the table man. You got a double XY banana with a Z spider split with the mike in your face and your first read covered. What do you do?

Have 2 soccer games tomorrow with my daughter. She’s amazing and has her sights set on being the starting goalie for the Lady Vols. She will do it to. Good night everyone. I day closer.

Having spent some time with the Pensky family in the past, I can attest she would be in tremendous hands if she went that route. Brian Pensky is a fantastic person and a great coach.

Here was Atlanta's quote about the meeting.

"I was then informed early today of a meeting that will take place that I am supposed to attend (can't give timeline out) that will be about a very large donation opportunity for some folks in attendance. Now I can't imagine in my right mind that they would approach anyone about a meeting like that unless there was something extremely positive was going to happen."

This was yesterday. Says he was informed just yesterday of a meeting. That dinner last night had been scheduled for a while as part of BOT meetings. This sounded like something extra to me since he said he couldn't give timeline out. That dinner was public knowledge. I could be wrong.

Haynesworth has been pretty volatile on social media lately, but I have to admit I enjoyed his segment on the radio roasting Butch. It was a new perspective from a former player.

Now I take his word with a grain of salt, but he was essentially saying that Butch has turned away former players and would not allow some to come to practices because they criticized him. Then he went on saying that Butch is a terrible coach and that while he sits in his luxury office that former Vols helped build, he has not done a thing for Tennessee.
