And Sexton is thinking ... "SMDH. I can't help you bro."

I hope he's thinking of a way to get Butch his next gig before any more stories come out.

IMO, there's no way to run an entirely clean program in big -time college athletics. If the team is winning, there's no problem. Once the team is losing, the locker-room turns on itself, etc. then the ugly stories begin to surface.

In this case, it's one after another. Some of it there is some truth other is pure speculation but none of it is positive.

If JG is in fact at the game tomorrow, I wonder if a half empty stadium and some fans booing would really bother him? Just some thoughts.

Not disagreeing. Just offering a different POV.

What do we have to "save" this year?

Everyone knows CBJ is a joke. I would say after we lost to USC, and cenrtainly after we lost to UK a bowl game is out of the question. I know its mathematically possible but highly unlikely. Weigh all that vs. saving money on the buyout and I think DTO's words are very very plausible.

What little dignity the fan base has left.

my question is whether an "outsider" has enough information to meaningfully analyze this chess match. I'm not sure there are enough factual pieces to make any kind of determination.

It's a battle of narratives currently, with a tremendous amount of misinformation from both sides.

At this point, there's too much luck involved to play chess - because you'd have to guess correctly on what to believe.

You would think this wouldn't need to be said.

I'm sure, I'd take Taggert over Frost, both over Gruden, but jmho.

I do really like Taggert, but NEVER over the Grude!

Antone Davis thing, Kendrick, Hyams(who many say only reports what the AD gives him) releasing the article about Antone Davis, now generally bad stories about Butchs actions coming out.

I just see it as Currie is letting it all unfold to let Butch hang and then fire him with cause and not paying him a dime of buyout money. JMO.

Good point about Hyams.

A shrewd negotiator would recognize that firing "with cause" would take years of litigation to resolve.

So, instead of hanging their hat on that, they would craft the letter, dismiss the coach for cause, and then try to settle it for pennies on the dollar.

They would not let the buffoon continue to be the front of the football program on national television on Saturdays.

Hmm
