I mentioned that the other day. I'm in a "wait and see" and well as "need better info" on that one.

Thanks for the info. That's kind of what I was suspecting.

I believe it was OldVol or DocVol that brought the info but I could be wrong.

I can't understand why people give "heat" to people when they don't happen. The trolls are fairly easy to identify. These things change every minute as there are a lots of pieces in play. Don't hate on the guys who are fortunate enough to have sources, and kind enough to share the info.

Ok I'm off my soapbox now. Sorry.

They like to think they're "sticking it to the man"...unresolved teenage angst.

Sidenote (could have been reported): Beav deleted all of his tweets except 2 “:)” & the other seems irrelevant. Including the 2 “heated” tweets that had the boards murmuring last night.

Antone Davis thing, Kendrick, Hyams(who many say only reports what the AD gives him) releasing the article about Antone Davis, now generally bad stories about Butchs actions coming out.

I just see it as Currie is letting it all unfold to let Butch hang and then fire him with cause and not paying him a dime of buyout money. JMO.

I would assume because Currie may trying to use those two situations to leverage a reduction in the buyout or terminate with cause and no buyout? Probably why Butch was po'd.

I could see trying to squeeze Butch on the buyout telling him that these instances will be on his permanent record of employment but neither is legalese for non payment of buyout. Kendrick is on the medical staff (as already publicly stated by Currie, so any lawyer would use his own words against him) and VFL leaving is extremely hard to prove in a court (bullying vs fair criticism).

A shrewd negotiator would recognize that firing "with cause" would take years of litigation to resolve.

So, instead of hanging their hat on that, they would craft the letter, dismiss the coach for cause, and then try to settle it for pennies on the dollar.

They would not let the buffoon continue to be the front of the football program on national television on Saturdays.

Not disagreeing. Just offering a different POV.

What do we have to "save" this year?

Everyone knows CBJ is a joke. I would say after we lost to USC, and cenrtainly after we lost to UK a bowl game is out of the question. I know its mathematically possible but highly unlikely. Weigh all that vs. saving money on the buyout and I think DTO's words are very very plausible.

It's an absolute Trollgasm in here. Some y'all gonna wakeup sore all over in an empty bed with an empty wallet on the dresser.

Also, with all of the stuff coming out about Butch and the program right now. Me thinks Currie is letting Butch hang himself to so that he can tell him to GTFO of Kville without one red cent.

He'll probably get something. McElwain was fired "with cause," yet he got $4 million dollars. If you fire "with cause," and completely deny payment of the buyout, Butch can file suit contesting the cause and allege breach of contract.

Florida felt they had cause and still paid McElwain $4M for his signature releasing the University of any future claims.

Tennessee will do the same thing. It'll just be a matter of how solid of a case they can put together against Jones. The better the case, the lower amount he's likely to agree to.

Or follow the Florida model. Let enough time and crap come out against him and eventually you go to him and negotiate a reduced buyout. Something like "I know we owe you $X million per your contract, but if you take $X-Y million to walk away, we won't make a big deal about all of this other stuff"

I guess I'm not understanding how either the Davis resignation or the Kendrick issue would delay his pre-arraigned departure.

For chow claws. Duh. :)

If the UTAD can prove he violated the terms of his contract, Butch is dismissed without one cent owed to him. Of course, there are litigation measures and blowback that must be considered, but this is, IMO, the reason he is still employed. I also feel that the cat and mouse power struggle is driving a lot of this. Ergen and his team are making a statement to Haslam and his stooge. Several of us expounded on this yesterday with what we thought was going on and why. I don't have inside info, at least not that I'm aware of. I've merely gathered pieces from this board, other places and my own intuition to reconstruct what I believe is unfolding within this dynamic situation.

I got 3 write ups over this thread/topic back in 2012. I see people tip-toeing this time.
At least the guarantee people have changed their tune this go around.

God, help us get gruden, please.

Currie is gonna come out of all of this looking like a genius and the best AD ever or like a dumb arse. Let’s hope it’s the first and it’s all going as planned
