I hope he does.

I hope they make him an offer that makes it impossible to turn down and he turns it down only because he does not want to coach college ball.

Serious question. Can anyone remember a time when any program had a sitting coach and EVERYONE was talking about who would replace him before he even left? I feel like it is kind of unusual.

But wouldn't firing Butch be "just cause" because of the BK situation. NCAA already said during the college basketball scandal that a HC saying not knowing is not an excuse.

I mentioned this earlier today. UT has to be SURE if they try to fire Butch for cause over the Kendrick situation. It could get real messy, real fast, and leave a cloud over the program at a time we want clear skies for a new coach.

If in fact, the work that’s been done over the past month to secure the VC group, gather the support, put a plan in place was to bring Jon Gruden to TN, and let’s assume all if that is true, wouldn’t it have been wise to see if the man would even take the job if offered????

You mean to tell me that Charlie Ergen and company who have the mental capacity to build an empire to billions of dollars would’ve pursued all of this without first securing the coach? There’s no way.

Gruden has been on board for a while with the numbers he’s wanted or this has all been made up. There is no middle ground. Larry is wrong and has been lied to or we’ve been lied to. It really is black and white concerning Gruden. He was the first objective and once he was on board, they could continue the rest of the plan.
