I responded earlier to your post and I want to make it clear that I've not heard he's blocking this. My source has told me that "He won't get out of the way" but I haven't talked to him in a bit. I do think he's the reason that Butch hasn't been relieved of his duties.
I know this is my first post but a long time reader and follower, but something has interested my thoughts tonight. First off I'm 100% on the Gruden Train and want nothing other than that.... And I think it's a timing thing ... however...something has troubled me since the Georgia game and why Butch is still here... I don't think it's an interim problem... or anything else I've read... the only thing I can conclude is that him Currie and Haslem are working on something together ... I completely agree that Haslem and Ergen are in a pissing battle along with Davenport and the AA about Gruden ... just a thought here... what if Haslem is working a deal to get Peyton and Butch to Cleveland together ... and that's the reason he's still here is because Haslem wants him and Peyton in cleveland and is able to work on the buyout by ways of salary the next few years at Cleveland... I mean the Browns can't get any worse ... and it has seemed as if Peyton is all for Butch (especially if you believe anything Haynesworth says) ... I mean why wouldn't Haslem try to benefit both of his teams at the same time if he could? Just a thought...
It's because I see the same narrative over and over today, bashing them based on the most flimsy of see thru evidence.
I actually am not a fan of the Haslam''s, especially Bill. But that doesn't mean the extremely unlikely tune MIT has started playing this afternoon regarding them makes any sense whatsoever.
Lmao pretty sure no NFL team will come within a mile of butch. Maybe to be a water boy, or the trumpet player during the anthem.
MIT was in full on Haslam bash mode in the last post I saw him make. It makes no logical sense that he'd refuse to yield to something that 85 percent of boosters supported, the university supported, his friend Peyton supported and would be great for the University he played for and loves. Plus he's close to 90. Long term future control probably isn't something he's willing to basically destroy UT football over.
I want Gruden, hope it's Gruden, hope I'm wrong. But at some point you have to use some logic.
