Actually, white people are incarcerated in asylums at a much higher rate than minorities.

1. It's not a foregone conclusion that Butch would be in the specifics of the sideline while he managed the game, nor is it a foregone conclusion that he would notice anything off per a single player, for which he is not a position coach. You seem to be the one making huge leaps of logic.

Again, this is not necessarily a sideline issue. The player in question got flagged for a moronic play. Coaches notice those things. Also, I guarantee he is watching the play of his OL. It is the unit that has more to do with the success of the offense than any other. If he didn't notice he should have.

2. It's not a foregone conclusion that Wells would make that decision due to lack of training as opposed to just plain ol' human free will, personality, and personal decision making. Again, you seem to be the one making the huge leaps of logic.

By no stretch am I looking to protect Butch or his job. I think he needs to be fire. I'm just not convinced that his lack of awareness per a single player's health is an automatic case of negligence, as has been proposed here. If you do... Well, that's on you.

Your scenario only works if Wells owns his actions. He is going to deny knowledge. That will put this on Butch's training because the OL coach should definitely know.

Regardless of how you slice it this isn't a good look for Butch. Either he's not paying any attention to his offensive line's play or he has been willfully negligent in his handling of that injury.

On a side note does anyone know what the renovations will be in neyland I hope they don't take anymore seats?

I honestly believe now that Currie has his man. I truly had my doubts before as I rode the 2012 roller coaster with you all and was only disappointed in the end. There's to much smoke this time from many plausible areas. Curry and others are not dumb enough to let the UT brand hit rock bottom without having a tremendous upswing planned in the near future that will catapult us back into the greatness that we once were. When everything gets lined up the way they want, I believe we'll see things move very quickly. I honestly think patience is key and it's going to get very fun soon! I have no inside information, just reading tea leaves here and there

Has Butch come out and said, "My coaches and players ALWAYS do what I tell them!" Legally, how does your logic hold up if Butch comes out and says, "We have an established procedure which doesn't appear to have been followed"?

If Butch had any credits in the bank he might survive by firing Wells, but he has none. At this point in time, he won't be believed because of past history.

IMO...the way they've handled the PR side of this is pretty damn dumb.

Someone on Twitter posted that this is what the south end zone would look like. RTI's article said they are "adjusting the south end zone to comply with NCAA safety guidelines" Twitter

I think I am holding at 70%... I got the information I needed from a couple of trusted posters...

Will say... I am looking forward to the Future of Tennessee Football without Butch and with Gruden :good!:

i gotta admit, i'm not feeling as optimistic as you guys. it has nothing to do with what i have or have not seen or heard.

i thinks it's just the time lapse that's wearing me down.

that, and the disgusting sickening feeling of disappointment last time. i guess i'm just bracing for the possibility of no JG. But man i hope with all my heart we get him.

i'm all in til this is over, but it sure is taxing me.

Doyle's Grudometer is at 15% this morning.

After all the allegations of concussions, head of VFL resigning, and shouting matches between Currie and Jones, you would think if the AD truly had an ace in his pocket like Gruden now would definitely be the time to play it. With the public perception that the hill is burning to the ground you would think that he would at least go ahead and pull the trigger on Jones in an attempt to douse the flames even if he wasn't ready to announce to the general public who the next hire would be. I find it troubling to even consider that the powers that be might be willing to sit back and allow the Tennessee brand to be dragged through the mud in order to possibly save some money. Things seem to be getting uglier and uglier by the day with seemingly nothing being done to correct it.

No offense to his followers but I still don't get the fascination with the Beaver man. Maybe I'm just missing something but the only thing I have seen him predict that makes me pause from outright calling him a troll is the movement on some obscure offshore betting line. All of his predictions on the media coverage could have easily been made by any of us. If you take a moment to suspend your belief that Gruden is the hire and look at from possibility that he is a pipe dream, it's not hard to see. Of course the media won't initially talk about Gruden because it's far fetched. Then as more and more fans begin to clamor for Gruden the media will be forced to report on it pointing out the near impossibility of the idea. When that does no good the next logical step is to report on the questions that Gruden could even be a successful coach in order to talk people off of the ledge of disappointment once a hire is made and that hire is not Jon Gruden.

As far as the other insiders go (Boro, DTO, OV) they have consistently said over and over that they are only 100% predicting that Jones will not be coaching at Tennessee next season. Never once have I seen them say that without a doubt Gruden will be the hire. Too many people seem to want to jump to that conclusion because it is what they want to believe. Too many are reading in between the lines instead of taking what is said at face value. Yet, if something happens and the hire is not Gruden these same people will be coming back here to crucify these gentlemen for misleading them.

Sorry for the tldr post but I just wanted to attempt to explain where I am at and why I'm there. I like to look at things from both sides of the equation and draw my conclusions from doing so. I am not attempting to argue that my opinion is right or attack anyone who may disagree. I may very well be wrong and sincerely hope that I am.
